Get it to go 4/7/2008

Dropped in on a Friday afternoon in the middle of lunchtime, around 12:30. My roommate, Dave, and I were very hungry, and my only experience to date with Ted's Place came when I'd poked my head in months ago on the walk home from the train and asked if they sold pizza by the slice. They do not.\r So Dave and I were instructed to seat ourselves, and grabbed a table in a fairly busy dining room. A young lady came by with menus for us and came by again a few minutes later to take our order. I asked what she'd recommend, to which she responded with my most hated of all responses, ""Everything is good.""\r Just in case, I had a backup plan and quickly ordered an italian grinder without the onion. Dave went with what he had the last time he got Ted's food, a chicken cheesesteak. He raved about the last one he had.\r 10 minuites later or so, the food came out, followed by our drinks (grrr). But that was the end of my complaints. The grinder was excellent, with good portions and fresh meat. The roll was crispy but not overcooked, and the meat was just slightly cooked at the top of the sandwich, just perfectly made. \r Dave's chicken cheesesteak was not what he remembered it to be. The last one he had was bigger and had the cheese cooked throughout the meat. This one was smaller (though still a reasonable portion) and suffered from one of the greatest cheesesteak maladies of all time - cheese melted on top. In doing so, Ted's doomed Dave to a lunch frought with the unpleasant task of picking cheese out of his front teeth, an inconvenience that could so easily have been circumvented with just a little extra effort, a little foresight, a little compassion. The best place will mix the cheese in with the meat, and the second best place will put in beneath the meat. But it should never go on top.\r Ultimately, my only disappointment came in the waitress not trying to make more of serving her guests; if you have to do it, you might as well do it well. So I recommend the food - to go. Pros: Excellent food, good prices, prompt service Cons: Promptness was only good part of service more

Best Cheese Steaks!!! 1/21/2007

This is definitely the greatest cheese steak place. One of my friends had an Italian Hoagie, and the other had a Roast Beef Salad (trying to stick with his diet). We barely spoke to each other during the meal because we could not stop eating. The portions were huge, but we did not leave anything on our plates. The atmosphere is average, but the great tasting food and the spectacular prices make up for it. Some customers next to us ordered a pizza, and it smelled awesome! I will definitely have one next time I go. \r Pros: Great Food, Good Prices, Large Portions, Big Fresh Salads for Dieters Cons: None more

Excellent, Excellent , Excellent 7/21/2005

A whole lot more than I expected from a pizzeria. The Greek salad was spectacular. My co-worked enjoyed the Royal Steak and a small white pizza. Come with an appetite, their portions are huge. Extremely friendly service. Pros: Great Food, Good Park, Inexpensive more
