I was a new patient to the Amesbury office and phoned to schedule my annual exam for my contact lenses and told them I wanted to try bifocal contacts. When I arrived they told me - he doesn't do exams for contacts (Dr. Allen). So why did you schedule me with him? The attitude was as if I should have known this. So I went ahead with the regular exam and was told by Dr. Allen I would just have to come back for a refit it is was around $15. At the front desk I asked and was told it was $25. I scheduled and waited months because (this office only does contact fittings one day per week). When I just went back for that appointment, I was told it was $200 for the refit on bifocal contacts. Needless to say, I walked out. I would gladly pay $200 to an ethical office. This office obviously doesn't know what they are doing. If they cannot schedule appointments or quote prices correctly, how confident can I be in my exam? I went back to my former eye doctor (who I only left because my insurance plan changed) Lesson learned - better to pay out of pocket and get quality care. Not to mention they do contact fittings every day they are open- imagine that. I have heard a lot of good things about the North Andover and Lawrence offices - it is hard to believe the Amesbury office is affiliated. more

Dr. Judith Marrocco and Karen, at Tallman Eye Associates in North Andover, are the two most competent, professional and thoroughly likeable people to be found within the eye and healthcare biz the world over. No one should know this, because then everyone will want to go see them, but, it happens to be so utterly and remarkably true that it rates public mention and they deserve any and all accolades that come their way. To have an eye exam with them is to be examined like you dream about, and the care and follow-up they further deliver is not to be believed. All doctors and healthcare professionals could learn a thing or two from them, and Tallman is lucky to have them on staff! more

I have personally witnessed the growth of this professional partnership, from the very small original office space in Lawrence to the numerous locations throughout the Merrimack Valley area. I have to say that these physicians are ""the real deal"" - they will NOT BS you and WILL tell you, straight out, if a particular surgery is (in their opinion) not right for you. These Doctors are not ""yes men"" - they are honest, hard-working, well-educated, personable professionals who know - and love - their chosen field of expertise. If they can't address your needs, for whatever reason, they will refer you to a respected, proven professional who can. I was fortunate enough to get the corrective lazer eye surgery about ten years ago. (Which I highly highly highly recommend. It was the best thing I have ever done in my life. I thank God everyday that I can see without glasses or contacts.) I saw Dr. D'Angelos. She was wonderful! So nice and informative. I would recommend going to them before even considering another eye doctor!! The surgery was quick (under 2 minutes for both eyes combined) and you can see instantaniously! Go for a consult today!!! Tallman Eye Associates has everything you need. I took my mother there for an eye exam, and she ended up needing further testing and we didn't even have to go anywhere else. She also needed to see a plastic surgeon for her eyes, they had that too. They have many different locations and most of the doctors go to all of them. We felt very comfortable with the staff, they are all friendly and helpful. The doctors took care of you like you were there only patient, not just $$ signs. I recently had an eye exam by Dr. Judy Marrocco at Tallman Eye Associates in North Andover. The exam was very thorough and probably, no definitely, the best exam I ever had. She really seemed to care about my vision and explained the options that were available to me. When my glasses were done, I could not believe how clear my vision was and my contact lenses were just as good. I give her exceptional marks on all accounts. If you have a chance to get an appointment with her you will find it worth the wait (it took me over two months to see her!) She is off the charts when it comes to quality and professionalism.
