I have been a client of Paula's for 24 years now, and I've had various hairstyles from a very short cropped style to long layers, bangs, no bangs. I've been straightened, curled, layered, one-length upkeep as well as many, MANY up-do's, one of which was my wedding!!! All of my hairstyles have been created and maintained by Paula. I've brought pictures of celebrities (my favorite reference tool) and she always gets it , PLUS she has the utmost patience when I'm indecisive (which is often)!!! The last few years, I've started to color my hair which is naturally dark...I've had chestnut highlights, blond highlights and now currently, red highlights. more

I have seen Paula from Armando's to Trilogy and now Sylventre Franc, and I must say, wherever she goes she is absolutely one of the most talented, artistic, and professional stylists in the salon! Paula is a stylist who I can trust to give me a style or color that will not only flatter my face but also work with my life style (no time for excessive styling at home!) Whether she is given a picture of a celeb cut to emulate or just an idea of what I'm looking for, she always understand exactly what look I'm going for, gives me advice for how to adapt for cut/color best for me, and gives me a style that has all my friends and co-workers jealous. Within my 9 years of seeing Teresa, I have had the great pleasure of celebrity hair stylists, such as Stuart Hirsch and Kazunori Ueda, color and style my hair. I have also experienced the great misfortune of a traumatic hair coloring process, which destroyed my two and a half foot long hair, for the next three years. I?ve had my hair highlighted by celebrity colorist, Stuart Hirsch, in New York City. Stuart Hirsch works with various celebrities and top models including: Nicky Hilton, Lisa Marie Presley, Mandy Moore, Lauren Conrad, Melania Knauss (Donald Trumps wife), Molly Sims, Jessica Stam, May Anderson, Riley Keough, Julie Ordon, Jessica White, Noemie Lenoir? The list goes on. Teresa Ortiz does as great of a job if not better than Stuart Hirsch. After Stuart was done highlighting my hair my best friend said, ?it looks the same.? Stuart Hirsch is the first and only person I can compare to Teresa?s fabulous highlight artwork. Teresa nursed my hair back to health, after a stylist at Salon Davis damaged my hair severely. The Stylist, at Davis Salon, bleached my hair 6 times in the course of 12 hours. My hair went from waist length, healthy locks, to shoulder length, breaking split ends, in one day of mistreatment. The only reason the stylist stopped bleaching my hair was because she said it ?might all fall out.? I would be bald. Three years later, my hair shines and has grown past my chest again. Thank you Teresa for saving my hair! Lesson here: Go to someone TRUSTED. Do not just trust anyone with your hair or it may end up destroyed. I trust Teresa 100% with my hair. After reading some good and not so good reviews I decided to give this salon a try. It always seems that the wrong people are writing negative reviews for the wrong reasons. I went in not knowing what I wanted. Just something different than the ""same old"". I met a really nice girl at the desk who actually listened to what I wanted and put me with a person that fit my stlye. I was very happy. I am not the type of person to post a bad review because the negativity will just come back to me. I think consumers should make up their own minds. more

I've been going to Sylvestre Franc for a few months now. The staff is upbeat and friendly , the valet guy noticed my inspection sticker was expired and offered to take my car to the garage down the street to be inspected while having my hair done!! Jenna Garey cuts my hair, amazing hair stylist. She takes the time to understand what I want out of my hair and helps me understand what she is doing. Jenna does not color hair so she had me see luke. I wasnt sure what I wanted so I just let him create something for me. I have these awesome highlights that are almond color that look good with my pale skin tone. If your looking for trendy stylists I highly recommended seeing these too. I had my hair straightened at the salon by Sylvestre. I previously went to a salon in NYC where I used to live and had the process done for 6 years with great success. However, after going to Sylvestre Franc, my hair became curly again after only two months! (It is supposed to last between 6 and 10 months) Also, he burnt the under layers of my hair with the solution. more

I've tried a full range of services and am consistently satisfied. Shami is fantastic - I regularly go for waxing and facials. She has my skin under control after 3 years of weird adult acne problems. (The products she recommends are totally worth it.) Always love my hair - I've used two of the stylists and really liked both. I've always been able to get in on short notice (although my schedule is pretty flexible.) Interestingly, I've seen women (and a few guys) of a wide range of ages who all leave looking fantastic and age appropriate (their stylists are also of a wide age range.) I feel like some salons specialize in younger or older, but they seem to nail both! Pros: skillful, fashionable, free valet Cons: somewhat overpriced nail services more

I recently went to Sylvestre Franc for Pink and White fills with Felicia. The acrylic is actually pink and white so my manicure doesn't wear off. They don't break and they were perfect up until I needed a new fill. My nails never looked so good. Pros: Free valet parking, Free Poland Spring water more

I highly recommend Sylvestre Franc's salon in Newton for the Yuko hair straightening. It is far superior to the Bio-Ionic straightening.The Yuko straightening has made my hair silky and shiny and amazingly straight. My hair was more amazing than I ever thought was possible. They use exclusively the Yuko system. The only way I can explain it is like I had a hair transplant to perfect hair! No more worrrying about the rain or humidity. I simply wash my hair, comb it and let it dry. When it's dry I touch it up a bit with an iron and it's perfect!
