Wonderful Vet Clinic!! 8/28/2011

We have had the best care for our dogs at this clinic. Dr. Becky is very compassionate. The entire staff at Suburban Animal Hospital have treated my husband, me and our pets with dignity and loving care. One could not ask for a finer team of veterinarians! more

Saved by Suburban Animal Hospital! 1/12/2010

I was in MN visiting my family from NY & couldn't fly my 57 lb pup Gracie on Northwest back to NY (they have a policy that they will not allow pets in the cargo hold when it is 10 degrees or below) So, I changed her to fly on Continental (better heated cargo or something) -anyway- I was stressed enough that it was a connection thru Houston (!!!), Continental does not allow sedatives (I didn't want my baby to be scared, of course), and they had to have a health certificate *within 10 days* which I did not have- the animal hospital a few blocks from my parents' house was booked solid & I was starting to freak out, then my Mom suggested I call Suburban Animal Hospital, where she & my sister bring their dogs- they got me in first thing, the same morning I called (the day before we left!). The vet is Becky Bohlmann- she is so gentle & awesome & wonderful with animals- Gracie LOVED her! She was even sweet to Gracie after she refused Dr. Bohlmann's kind offer of treats (Gracie's real picky). 5 STARS to Becky & her staff, especially for understanding that I was so relieved to have gotten the certificate that I started to sail out without paying! Thank you, SAH!!! Sincerely, Jessie Nelson Pros: Dr. Bohlmann rocks!!! more

Good Experience for a First time Pet Owner 2/27/2008

As a first-time pet owner (not including family pets!), I enjoyed going to this vet. I adopted my kitten from the Humane Society, and we chose this one because it was the closest distance. The staff were friendly and talkative, and clearly enjoyed being with the animals. I've never owned a cat before, so the vet did a great job answering all my questions and explaining different policies, procedures, and medicines. We took her in for a wellness check the first time, and the vet helped clear up a few things about having a cat at home. The second time we went was for her shots, which they explained to me as well as to why they were giving them to her, and what to expect and what to do if she had a reaction. The only downfall I've seen was when we brought her in to get declawed (we've tried everything else, and she was getting stuck underneath doors!!). They gave me a form to sign, and the front-desk staff made it seem like I had to sign off on everything, but if I had and didn't read everything over and ask questions, I would have had added another $200 and almost put a second microchip in my kitty! I thought I was signing an authorization form but it turned out to be additional services. \r \r I would recommend this vet to anyone who asked. Pros: Parking, Service, Friendliness Cons: Some office staff don't explain things well enough more

An upsetting visit 7/24/2007

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL. I was very upset with the fact that this hospital administered vaccines (2 out of 2) that contain thimerosal(mercury) into my dog. I raised my questions and concerns over thimerosal to the staff in advance. Unfortunately they still injected the toxin to my dog. This could be handled totally differently if their staff was sharp, well educated and good at customer service. Nevertheless, they failed. \r I don?t know what kind of mentality they have when treating dogs. If FDA stop using vaccines contain thimerosal on children, why do they think that it?s safe to use on small animals. Not to mention that I informed them about my concern over the issue before the shots were given. When I called at 9 AM, they told me they already gave the shot. Only later when I picked him up, I found out that the shots were given at 10 AM. They obviously could have prevent it from happening. My very worst experience showed this place do not care about customers, do not care about our pets, staff were not well trained and lack of communications skills. \r Pros: good groomer Cons: bad customer service, inattentive staff more
