I was nervous to try a new salon but thought I'd give it a try. I got the best haircut from Tatiana and though I didn't feel like I was with my best friend, the end result was fantastic. Studio Z was a life saver. They saved my hair once and then I was hooked. I have been going there every 6 weeks for the last few months. My highlites look amazing and now Suzanne is the only person I trust to touch my hair. I also love that as I wait-- I get some coffee and snacks and they always make sure I have a good magazine to read. I try to book my appt. during the morning so I do not have appointments in front of me but I have been lucky enough that I never had to wait too long. I am going there for an updo in 2 weeks so I will post again on that. Pros: Great Environment. Skilled Staff, Friendly Cons: It is Pricy To Look This Good more

I had the best color done by Susan. The staff is very friendly and am very satisfied with the results. If for some reason you are not happy they will re-do the service no questions asked. Pros: Love everything I had done-parking is great more

I went to Stuio Z today to get coloring and a trim. I did not have an apppointment, but I was serviced pretty quickly. I think the lady who did my coloring was Suze, and the color came out OK, but nothing special really. She talked to me for a minute or so, then she just went about doing her job. I did not feel the staff were really that friendly, you would think that they would want to be extra nice to a first time customer. The lady who cut my hair was Nina and I really just want a trim, so I can't tell if she's a good haircutter. I did not like the way she styled my hair. I have Asian fine hair and she styled my hair really straight, which makes my hair look more limpy. The hair blower was also really hot, I felt like my fine hair were getting fried. I told her I rather have more volume, so she used a round brush and fixed it a little. I can't say if the price is worth it for this small salon. I got a color, gloss and trim and end up paying over $140. I think I would recommed Christie Salon at Bay Terrace for this price. A few weeks ago I was butchered and got the worst haircut I can remeber at a city salon. If I say I hated my new short hair do that would be an understatement. I went from having beautiful long hair, a few inches below my shoulders to a neck length bob, that was supposed to look like Kate Bonsworth's hair cut but instead I looked like Patty Duke. After alot of complaining to my friends and family, someone recommended Studio Z, they said that they were experts with extensions. And boy they were not lying! I was nervous at first to put them in but after consulting at Studio Z, and meeting with the staff, who by the way is the biggest bunch of sweethearts,I made my appointment with Nicole and Fabiana. I have officially named them my extentsion guru's! Not only is my hair back to its long length, it looks natural, the extenstions match the color of my hair to a T! And I can kiss Patty Duke good-bye. Nicole and Fabiana were super friendly and really professional, even after being stuck with me for a few hours! I left the salon feeling like a brand new lady! I can't thank them enough, so if your unhappy with your hair length like me , or are considering extentsions I'm telling ya go on over to Studio Z and see my favorite girls, they're awesome, and you'll be thrilled with the results! I moved to New York over two years ago, and I had been looking for a great stylist ever since I've been up here. Well, it took me over 2 years, but I've found it - Studio Z is great! Not only are they an Aveda salon, but the stylists (CC and Christine) are awesome. CC corrected my hair color and Christine gave me great cut. The pricing is also very reasonable. Recently, I went to Studio Z Hair Salon in Bayside after having a ver horrible experience at my previous salon I used for many years. I was determined never to return to that salon and asked around for word of mouth to find a highly recommended salon that I could try. I can't begin to express how amazing Tatiana is. Not only is she so friendly but also she is a perfect definition of a hairdresser. If you haven't gotten your hair cut and blown out by Tatiana, you don't know what you?re missing. She's absolutely amazing. She does wonders with my hair. I?m depressed doing my own hair now because its nothing compared to a Tatiana blow-out. I have gone to many stylists and Tatiana is the best hands down. She makes my long dead hair look alive and bouncy. She is also so sweet and makes you feel so comfortable. If you want the treat of a lifetime, you MUST sit in Tatiana's chair. I have been a customer at Studio Z for about 13 years. Through the years I have tried many of thier stylists. I have never had a horrible experience. The two times I was unhappy I voiced it and was taken care of free of charge with a tremendous apology. Lately I am a customer of CC for my color and Eugene for my cut. They are both such a pleasure to be around. I look forward to going because I know it will be a relaxing and fun time. I have never liked my color better and my cut is always perfect. I have been in weddings and recieved more complements then the bride. Everyone there is wonderful and the prices aren't bad. I have long hair and my cut is $45 and highlights are $150 for the full head. If you want hair like the stars for reasonable prices try Studio Z. It is worth every penny. I've been going to studio Z for a while now. What a great salon.... Everybody is very professional and do a great job, especially Tatiana. This girl is amazing. I don't trust my hair to just anyone. You know the typical story, you tell them what you want and get something else, either too long or too short. Tatiana always does it right, she listens to what I want and does a great job. My hair is long, thin and very difficult to cut and style, so if she can handle my hair, she's a true Pro. I recomment the salon overall, but if you go make sure to request Tatiana, you'll be very pleased. Pros: Great service, available parking, awesome staff more

Ok, so I am new to the area. My freinds told me to go to city seach to find just about anyhting...so I went on looking for a hair salon in my area. I read on a few of them and then came across studio z. Okay I have to say this cc girly seems to be writing on herself. I cant help but notice all the reviews have the same format, and say about the same thing. I'm sorry to say the only reviews i buy are the negative ones. Listen I am all about patting yourself on the back for a job well down, but it looks like this cc is tooting her own horn all the way to the bank. I was on the x-press bus to midtown when I asked a girl who did your hair. She replied CiCi from Studio Z Salon in Bayside. I was told to read about her in citysearch. I made my appointment on a crazy Saturday. The cool thing about this busy salon was everyone was happy. Most of all CiCi. She displayed an aura of confidence. She didn't try to seel me the Brooklyn Bridge. She promised me that if I continued with her she could make my hair look beautiful in three visits. Well To our surprise she it the color dead on. I had mousey brown hair when I got there I left with a beautiful Auburn Brown. It made my blue eyes stand out as she said it would. Now I have to say I read all the coments about her. I'm not going to lie she had two that were mean and to me seemed to be a total lie.She explained to me I needed a single prosess and a gloss. The price was fair and woth every penny. I'm so glad I took a chance on her. She is one smart cookie and she is outstanding.. My next visit I'm going to the owner for extentions. I have been a long standing client of CeeCee's and I have followed her to every location. It has been close to 15 years and my color keeps getting better and better. Do not read the negative press because those people don't know what they are talking about and therefore shouldn't have any hair to begin with. more

I had my first of many Studio Z experiences this weekend. I went in for a cut and got exactly what I wanted. I am usually very unhappy with my cuts, having too much or too little taken off. Tatiana did exactly what I asked for and I left with a new bounce in my step. The ambience in Studio Z is wonderful. I found this salon on city search. I had my hair color done by CeeCee. Being Asian we gals dont have too many options. Cee Cee did a beautiful job on my color. we chatted for a few minutes and she understood what I wnated. I had my color done in LA last time. She made it look even better than before. This place is the worst place in the world. CC did my color which I was told she is great, actually she is the worst colorist ever. She had an attitude problem, I understand if your having a bad day, but DO NOT take it out on your customer. She WAS NOT listening to me, and the color turned out to be a horrible gold color, that my grandmother has. I was really unhappy with the color, then I was shuffled around so I can get a hair cut. I sat in 3 peoples' chair and my I really wanted to walk out at that point. My hair cut was uneven and the layers were so short it looked like I had an afro b/c I have curly hair. This place is the ""PITS"". DON""T DO IT TO YOURSELF, go somewhere that is knowledgeable. more

I have been going to Studio Z now for about 4 years. I get my extentions done by Christine and my color done by Suzzane. Studio Z does the most amazing extentions!!!! I have gone everywhere for extentions and had all different kinds of methods done. Christine is the best at extentions. She uses the best method and great hair. I have had this method done at another hair salon and the secret is all in the way you place them, the hair used, and the machiene used. She places them in such a way that no one would ever be able to tell that you have extentions. The hair is wonderful quality and she has the top of the line machiene. When your hair is wet or if you style your hair any way (up or down) there is no way that you can tell see them or tell that you have extentions. I have so much experience with extions and I highly recommend Studio Z for everyone for extentions. I am so happy that I have found this salon and I would never go anywhere else. Hey My name is Michelle. On Wednesday I went to a salon near my job that ruined my hair. It left it half orange and half white and I left crying. I went to CVS and bought a dark brown color--anything to get me out of the house and to work w/o being totally humiliated. It basically turned my hair a light auburn which I hated. I was crying all week and my girlfriend recommended that I go to Studio Z on Bell Blvd. I called up in tears and the receptionist was amazing. She listened to my story and booked me an appointment for the next day!! I showed up at 130 for my appointment. Studio Z is gorgeous! Very classy and they even serve you coffee and crosoints while you wait. My hair colorist was Suzanne--she was incredible. After looking at my hair she knew exactly what needed to be done to fix it. I was able to go back to my original brunnette hair with gorgeous blonde high lites. She took her time--did not rush and got the job done fabulously!!! My hair is so soft, and didnt break--my major fear b/c with all the bad processing earlier int he week I was scared to death it was all going to fall out!! Even the girls who washed my hair were so thorough to make sure all the color was taken out the right way, and after that I left with an amazing blowout. All my friends who saw the diaster hair I went IN with and the amazing hair I came out with are in shock!!! Thank g-d my friend told me about Studio Z b/c I feel like its a hidden gem in Queens--and I will definitly be going back!! I even asked to speak with the owner at the end of my appointment to thank her--and she was so sweet and welcoming!! Oh and a quick note--the price's were amazing!!!
