Please NEVER EVER go to this guy. I can not believe he graduated medical school. I was sent to him by my GP. He is very arrogant, will not let you speak and seems inconvenienced by you. I am have stroke like episodes. All the tests he ordered came out ""fine"". He told me to go live a healthy life that there is nothing the wrong with me. My GP found out what happened and was LIVID. He sent me to UC Davis. This guy is a putz. more

best neurologist ever!!! 12/13/2010

I have no idea what or why anyone would ever write a negative review for this doctor. He has been my doctor for over 10 years and I find him extremely competent, conservative and medically sound, not just in his advice, but in his own health as well. Glad he is my doc. I have had epilepsy since I was 15 years old (now over 50) and have i ever seen some kooks. He is wonderful. Don't listen to the nay sayers that never have anything nice to say about anyone. Blessings and good health to all more

Glad I didn't listen to Negative Reviews 11/14/2010

My PCP recommended Dr Stoody to me. I went onto this website to find his address etc and saw the negative posted reviews. To be honest they actually frightened me awaey from Dr. Stoody, I canceled my appt. and made on with another Nuerologist in Roseville. THAT was a big mistake the other Nuerolgist cost me a fortune in time and money with unnecessary tests (EEG's, MRI (although I had just had one two weeks earlier) and called for a spinal tap. She put me on crazy drugs that made me have horrible nightmares etc. She never listned to me nor did she help me. I gave Dr. Stoody's office a call and they got me in right away. Dr. Stoody was a very nice man. He spent a lot of time with me and listened to what I had to say. We talked about options and made a plan. I would very much recommend him to anyone. He helped me when no one else was able to. I realized that sometimes only the people with bad experiences take the time to post. So I wanted to make sure that everyone knew that he was a very good doctor, was never rude or short. I hope you will not make the same mistake that I did. more

Tell the truth 7/20/2009

every review that has been written about dr. stoody is very true I have been seeing him since january of 2009 and i had an uneasy feeling with him the first time i met him, but after that he seem to be nice until today at my appt. he was very rude, short with me , and told me when i asked him a question that i was testing him, I am an employee at sutter roseville and i will make sure that anybody i know ,Will know what kind of doctor he is. Pros: a good fake Cons: not such a good doctor more

Rude, callous, and doesn't listen (thus misses dangerous symptoms), avoid at all costs 8/4/2008

I go to Dr. Stoody for epilepsy and, quite frankly, I can't stand the guy. I haven't had a seizure in years so thankfully I only see him every 6 months. He is rude, he is extremely condescending, and he treats patients with disdain, bordering on contempt. When I go see him every 6 months the first thing he'll ask is "" So, any spells lately?"" (spells are his term for seizures). Spells? (at least he doesn't call them 'fits""). He's often very late too. One morning I had the first appt. at 9:00 and he didn't show up until 9:45am. I understand that things come up but his staff was extremely rude--didn't apologize for his lateness--didn't even say a word in fact just left us sitting there wondering what the heck was going on. When I went up to the window to ask where he was they answered, with extreme rudeness, ""he's still at the hospital!!"" (Ok, fine. But why not tell us that instead of letting us all sit there wondering?). We I complained to him about the rudeness of his staff and his answer was ""Well, have you ever had to work with the public?"". The contempt with with he used the word ""public"" (to describe his patients no less), encapsulates this guys attitude towards his patients. Because of this contemptuous attitude don't bother trying to talk to this about any concerns because all you'll do is annoy him. I was having a serious side effect from a med he'd prescribed for my restless leg syndrome only to have him tell me that it was all in my head. I did some research on the internet and found that this was indeed a side effect that others taking this same med were suffering from--they were told to stop med immediately. I quit the medication and all my side effects went away. I didn't bother to tell him that after quitting the symptoms went away because it wouldn't have mattered, he still would have chalked it all up as ""all in her head"". I need to find another neuro but it's such a pain changing (need referral, etc). Stay away from this guy! Pros: only pro for me is his office is close to my house Cons: arrogant and uncaring, staff is extremely rude, didn't check lab results more

minium required 9/26/2007

I previously wrote a rather negative review and I wish to take it all back. Dr. Stoody came through and wrote a letter on my behalf. I have recomended him to a friend. Pros: knows his speciality Cons: doen't like paperwork more

Avoid this one 8/5/2007

I was sent to him on a referral after my GP said that there had been a lot of negative feed back, but that neuroligist in general were ""different"". Gee Thanks I actually only saw Dr Stoody 2'x during the 2nd visit he told me ""There is nothing wrong with you, have a good life"". When I questioned him about what I should do if I had similiar symptoms again (stroke syptoms according to ER) he said ""Ignore them"". Not very responsible in my uneducated opinon. My sis-in-law only saw him once, never went back. Neither of us knew the other had seen him till months later. Cons: Staff yelled questions across waiting room that should have been private.. more

Not good if you have MS 7/3/2007

Dr. Stoody was my neurologist from 2001-2003 (I believe). I have multiple sclerosis and Wilson's disease. more
