Best

I work close to downtown, so being out on 106th South is quite the commute. I've been looking to move away from Sterling Village for a year and a half. But I've been spoiled here!...

Worst

I absolutely agree with everything this user said. I lived there for 2 years only because I HATE moving! I thought this place looked so nice and quiet, but I also had maintanence ...

Stay away! I'm currently living here and we are counting the day till we can move, though I'm not looking froward to what kind of crap they are going to put us through when we move. This place is horrible worst apartment I have ever lived in. Way over priced and yes some of the management have attitudes. I have a bottom apartment and I can hear every little sound from my neighbor. I can even tell when they are using hot or cold water! And yes we can hear them using the restroom! As far as maintenance they haven't ignored us but they don't fix things correctly they spent way to much money and time on a shower door but won't fix the washer that leaks. And the maintenance girl wanted to argue with us in my living room, I had to tell her to stop, and leave! In the winter is very drafty the management even told us the buildings were designed and meant for Arizona so they do not fair well in our cold environment. Bottom line no matter what deal they offer you on move in don't take it go somewhere else. more

Run away they will screw you too. 11/1/2011

This place looked great for my family until a week after we moved in. First we found mouse poo everywhere all over our dishes all over everything. First they called an exterminator that put down sticky traps that did nothing and he even said they will do nothing. So then they had to hire a new exterminator that took 2 weeks in witch the maintenance put in snap traps and said if you catch any call us day or night and we will come get it. One Sunday night around 8:30 pm a mouse got caught by his foot on one of the sticky traps we called maintenance 3 times they never called back I had to get out a knife and kill the thing because it was suffering. Next our kitchen sink was leaking and maintenance just said oh its just like that. By the time we moved out the damage was real real bad but not my fault. Because of cheep windows in the apartment during the winter time you will get a lot of condensation on the windows witch will freeze at night and eventually turn to mold. The tile in our shower fell out and we where without a shower for almost two weeks in witch time they had to use a big industrial fan to dry the wood in the shower so they could re tile and put in new dry wall. The fan ran up my power bill and made the whole apt smell like mold. Last our dryer vent had to be cleaned out because we had to run the dryer 4 times to get clothes dry. It turned out there was a bird nest in the vent that could have caused a huge fire. I did get a small credit on my rent due to running the fan and our dryer problem. All in all this is one of the biggest apartments i have ever lived in witch was what sold us on them. The materials used are cheep and fall apart very quickly, maintenance is a bit lazy but they do have one guy who is great i just don't think they give them quality replacement parts. If i had to live here again i would live in my car the office is not vary helpful and forgets everything and never notes your account so they will call and call due to them forgetting about a conversation. Do not rent here do you family a huge favor.... Also they screw you on your move out walk through. They will dump ridicules charges on you and threaten to ruin your credit if you dont pay asap. They are a joke all around and not worth the time or money. more

Awful Management 4/28/2011

The girl that answered the phone was severely socially handicap. She was rude and short tempered and demeaning, all in the minute and a half I spent on the phone with her. I would never rent from anyone even slightly close in temperament to her and I wonder who is in charge and WHY they are letting someone like her represent their business. more

Great Place - lot of space 1/14/2011

My wife and I have been living here for a year and are very happy with the place. Maintenance have been quick and professional and Management very customer service oriented. We recommend it! more

RENTERS BEWARE!!!! 11/19/2009

If you're looking for a place with a helpful, friendly leasing staff. Don't live here! The staff is a complete circus. If you have any questions about your leasing contract, they'll act like they've never even seen one in their life before. Plus parking doesn't exist. Do yourself a favor and live somewhere else! Pros: Nice facility Cons: Rude/incompetent leasing staff, no parking more

This place is a total joke! 10/12/2009

I absolutely agree with everything this user said. I lived there for 2 years only because I HATE moving! I thought this place looked so nice and quiet, but I also had maintanence issues, staff issues, and extreme utility costs. Pros: Beautiful on the outside Cons: Rude staff, poor maintance response, costly utlities more

Nice on the surface - but beware 1/24/2009

I have lived at SV for about 3 months. The model was very nice with large windows and a fireplace and the grounds looked well manicured when I visited. The location seemed great and my pets would be welcome, so I decided to sign a 12 month lease. My mistake. Although the 3-4 nightly trains kept me awake the first couple of weeks, I can adjust to that. What I cannot adjust to is the utility cost - averaging $100 per month each for gas and electricity. There is also a $40 per month water bill and about $10 for garbage. I was quoted $125 total for all utilities. It is running double that. My thermostat is only on 65 and we literally sit around with blankets on because of the draftiness. Pros: Looks nice on the outside Cons: high utilities, poor customer service and maintenance more

nice looking apartments but paper thin walls 11/16/2008

I've lived here 2 months and thankfully, only signed an 8 month lease. The apartments look great, have well designed floor plans, and the landscaping is nice. However, the walls are as thin as paper. I live on the second floor -- apartments above and apartments below. I can hear EVERYTHING. That point is worth repeating. I can hear EVERYTHING. Very annoying. more

Love it here, can't beat it. 8/12/2006

I work close to downtown, so being out on 106th South is quite the commute. I've been looking to move away from Sterling Village for a year and a half. But I've been spoiled here! It's can't be beat. The apartments are huge. The bathrooms are also very big. The private garages and oversized private patios are great. There is tons of natural light, and the complex looks great. My friends always comment on how nice it is, especially the pool area. Maintenance always responds quickly to any issues I have. I've only had 1 minor air conditioning problem and one drain problem and they were both fixed asap. The hot-tub is more like a warm-tub. But other than that I love it here. I can't find anywhere else in the valley with these ammenities and this great price. Pros: Nice lighting, big floorplans, fireplaces Cons: Don't sweep the walkways in summer. Hot-tub not super hot. more

Know 10/4/2005

The master bathroom toilets are a constant problem for everyone living there. The management even tells you what toilet paper to buy! Sometimes the water is bad smelling too. If you are a nonsmoker you could be inundated with secondhand smoke from the apartments around you and management doesn't care to make smoking and nonsmoking buildings. If you have 2 vehicles you are going to be parking one in the garage and the other WAY FAR AWAY - and just forget about company. Just know that this is a great place for pets and access to the freeway but there are a lot of other problems. Pros: Pet friendly, Freeway access Cons: Toilet problems, Bad parking more

FYI! 8/17/2005

Although this is a very beautiful community, the staff at Sterling Village is very rude and unprofessional. After we moved out of our apartment, we received this huge bill even though we were told by the staff that our old apartment had been rented! Please Be very very careful. Trust me there are too many other beautiful apartments in the Valley to choose from!!!! Pros: Landscape, community, cleanliness Cons: Staff Members, Staff Members, Staff Members more
