Visit our preschool, and you?ll discover beautiful flower and vegetable gardens flourishing outside its rustic brick walls. The smells, sounds, and colors of nature create an ideal setting where children arrive each day to learn everything from their ABCs and 123s, to who Jesus is and the wonderful ways He loves them.
For the past 30 years, we?ve taught hundreds of children with the simple notion that making learning fun is our best tool for inspiring young minds, and that a loving and nurturing environment creates a safe place to grow. Our dedicated teachers work daily with the goal that students move on to kindergarten and beyond with a love of learning, a love of God, and a love of one another.

In our Little Sprout Program, your child will be offered a variety of opportunities to explore the world through play-based learning. Even though it may seem like fun and games to your little one, the curriculum we follow is packed with educational and spiritual elements. Each day is filled with art, reading, science, music, story time and more. We also incorporate Jesus story time and prayer time. Fine motor skills, gross motor coordination, and social skills are developed through high-quality individual and group activities under the guidance of a college-educated staff where the objective is that each day children love to learn, and learn with love.

St. Matthew?s Lutheran Preschool is licensed by the State of Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, and is in compliance with their rules and regulations.
We take the health and safety of the children very seriously. Teachers take special care in sanitizing toys and equipment, and teach the children proper hand-washing techniques. We also have a custodian on staff who cleans and disinfects the facility daily.
Our doors remain locked, and visitors must ring a doorbell and be buzzed in by a teacher. Staff members also receive ongoing training in health and safety topics and are all CPR/First Aid certified.
