Several years ago, my Dr advised me to get a therapy dog and after a long search I found Mariah, an 8 yr young Shelty who had lost her Mom. It was love at first sight and little d...

They saved my chihuahua's life 3/4/2011

St Francis is and always will be my Vet of choice. Dr Stanhope was amazing when my 6 week old chihuahua broke her right foot and back hind leg - most vets probably wouldn't have been able to do the surgery he saved her life and she walks and runs perfectly. more

Compassion and loving care 2/17/2011

Nancy and I are so grateful for your kindness, compassion and the loving care you always gave our litte gigi. We feel so fortunate that on our first visit to St. Francis, at 4 am, you were there to take care of her. We will always remember your gentleness and the way you put gigi at ease. Saying goodbye to our little girl was so very hard, but you and Pam helped to make her passing a bit easier. With our deepest respect, thank you again for all the loving care you gave our Gigi. more

Thank you for your efforts to help us with our pet after he was diagnosed. Because you treated him and gave us medicine, we were able to have one more very precious week with him when he felt well enough to play and snuggle. We will always be grateful for that. more

Service is TOP KNOTCH 6/29/2010

I have taken my cat here for years. Just took her again today. Serivce was top knotch. From the customer service at the front desk to the nurse to the wonderful veterinarian. They took time out to explain what was going on with my cat and gave me options so I could choose the best one for me. Pricing was fair for the service received. You have to stop and think that this is a 24 hour animal hospital and most of their clients are people who have had their family cat run over by a car or some situation where they need ASAP assistance and they don't have the funds to pay and they get upset and then write bad reviews. I don't think that people that have had GOOD experiences take the time out to write a good review and for those of you that do, BRAVO....... You can't go to a local grocery store and get baskets of food and expect to walk out because your children are starving and need food. People need to get paid and they need to provide for their own families and I didn't have any problem paying for the services I received. The people were wonderful and I have a follow up appointment in 7 days to make sure that the treatment works. I would recommend this animal hospital to everyone I know. I hope this helps you! more

Caring, friendly people 5/17/2009

St. Francis has been our vet for over two years and we take our numerous animals there. One of our dogs has needed to board very regularly - he was old, bad tempered and probably a royal pain, but the staff bonded with him and truly cared for him. Today we had to have this dog euthanized, and I can only say that I hope every experience I have with tough decisions regarding our animals is handled with such compassion, support and well-placed education on the options available. We choose St. Francis because of their reliability and consistency, and it is hard to fault the way that these guys care about the animals in their care. Don't expect platitudes here - you'll get the truth and sometimes it's hard - but if you want good, honest people then there are much worse places to go. Frankly the customer service for the humans sometimes lacks a bit, but I would much rather have the great service provided to the animals when I visit a vet. more

Vet With a Heart 11/30/2008

We found a cat that had been hit by a car- it was late, so we took the cat to St. Francis. Even though the cat had no identification and no one to pay for the treatment- St. Francis took care of the animal- did the necessary surgeries and even called to let us know the cat was going to be fine AND that they had found a home for the cat! WOW! This type of service (when putting the cat down would have been the least expensive option)is really a rarity today! Thank you St Francis!! What a great business! more

Speedy response during critical time 4/1/2007

St Francis helped my cat Chili late on a Thursday morning. He had a heart condition and had difficulty breathing. It was traumatic for me and difficult for Chili. Although I had to let him go, I had the knowledge of Chili receiving speedy response to his needs and was being kept as comfortable as possible during his final hours. more

Great staff, good service 1/7/2007

We had to board our Akita at St Francis for almost two weeks after an accident at home, and we also had the dog neutered while he was there. It wasn't the greatest of circumstances that landed us needing a vet at 7am on a Saturday morning, but we had nothing but great experiences with the staff starting right from the first phone call. My dog was very well cared for (you can tell the difference between people being nice just because you're there and the dog responding to people who are looking after him well when no one is watching), the staff was awesome and I went to visit at least every other day. I was worried they would think I was a pain in the neck, but I never got anything except a genuine welcome. I will be using St Francis for all my pets after this experience. The place is busy, so be prepared for a wait at peak times. Their veterinary rates are comparable to other places I have been, and the boarding seems to be a very good value. more

Emergency Vet Care 12/3/2005

This animal hospital offers emergency vet care. As indicated, it is a 24 hour animal hospital. The care seems adequate but be prepared for long wait times. The office staff, although friendly, is not very efficient. Also be prepared to be asked to leave a large sum up front on your credit card for your pet's care if your pet remains overnight and may need additional tests, etc. more

Open 24 hours 6/24/2005

St. Francis Animal Hospital is always open, which is why, when I go out of town, I bring my dog here to board (it's cheap, too--$18/night for my 50-pound basset hound). Other places operate during normal business hours and the dogs are left alone a lot. Like all vets in the area, they're expensive. Payment is expected up front, which is normal, but for your animal to even be seen by the vet, expect to pay $36+ (and it's always more, isn't it?). Tests and treatments can break the bank! Walk-ins are welcome, but I suggest making an appointment, because you'll (hopefully) get seen sooner than if you drop in. The phones here ring like crazy, so if you call, expect to spend some time on hold. The vets are great but the assistants...not so much. more
