This place is the WORST ever since Dr. Pottynski came on board and Dr. Omar left. Service is TERRIBLE. A few examples: First time Dr. Pottynski (only vet there now I believe) examined my dog, she made no attempt to ""connect"" with the animal, and had my dog so upset she had a bowel movement in the vet's arms! This has never happened to us before. She was unable to handle our poor dog well enough to complete the exam! Another time, she had her nails trimmed and they SKIPPED a paw because they said it was to hard to do. If the ""professionals"" can't handle a 7 lb. dog, who can? The next time they trimmed her nails, they cut her so badly that they handed me a BADLY BLEEDING dog. Bob, the technician, who is arrogant and rude to their customers, didn't even notice the blood which had gotten all over my shirt. I had to ASK for something to clean us up and he finally got me a paper towel with NO APOLOGY. After that I never stepped into that place again. That was over a year ago, and now they are sending me a $50 bill for services NEVER GIVEN 3 months ago!! I agree with other reviewers: they should be shut down for malpractice. A DUMP! (Forgot to mention how the place SMELLS when you walk in...that should have been my first clue.)\r Too bad Dr. Omar left...he was the best vet I ever met, but now he is out of state. :( more

Worst vet practice I`ve ever seen, filthy, smelly, understaffed, and no certified vet technican, Bob Alford the only assistant to the vet is a highschool dropout without any certification and mumbles so much he needs speech therapy besides customer service skills, he even brings his 4 year old kid to work everyday just to get in the way and annoy clients and torture animals in their cages, this place needs to be shut down. more

I would NEVER take my dog here if it was the last vet on Earth! I stopped in to introduce myself because I was new to the area and both the guy at the front desk and the vet were EXTREMELY rude!! The guy at the front desk was in the back room yelling when I got there with my friend and when he came out he said ""sorry, I was on the phone. I had a customer who was trying to tell me his dog needed surgery ASAP but I don't let customers tell me when their pet needs surgery, sorry, but here the customer isn't always right."" When I asked to talk to the vet he brought her out and she hurried my friend and I out so fast saying, ""you can leave your information at the counter."" Upon saying that, the guy at the front desk said, ""Sorry, lots to do back there, lots of dogs under anesthesia, can't talk!"" and rushed to the back. SO rude. That establishment is a joke and should be shut down! more

The Worst 12/5/2011

My friend takes her dog to this animal hospital and I was appalled at what I saw and heard. They only have one doctor there, and she seems very overwhelmed with everything. She was extremly rude. Her assistant was a young man that tried to pass himself off as a doctor. He had limited knowledge of vet medicine and much of what he said made no sense. The place was filthy and when we had to go into the treatment room we could see how poorly the animals were taken care of . Pets were in cages with dried up food and feces stuck to there bottoms. It was a disgrace. When I told ny friend to complain to the administrater, she said it was useless. The woman had been there for three years and had done nothing. She probably doesn't even have any pets that she cares about. This was my friends last ever visit to that place. She also placed a call to the SPCA. Hopefully they will take some action. more

I believe this place has a new owner now, and he's great! 4/24/2011

Dr. Llovet is pretty brilliant and is the kind of vet who takes his time when getting to know your animal and what they need. My sister's a vet (out of state, unfortunately), so my standards are high when it comes to who treats my cat! They have very good hours and I really like their ""Pet Portal"" (online web services). There are other vets closer to me, but he's the one I'm going to see from now on. more

Poor service, careless treatment 8/16/2009

I've been to this hospital twice and don't plan on going again. Their treatment of my cat was careless and the place was not very clean. Plus, when you call there, you can never get through. Go to Pet Resort Hospital, much better. Cons: Poor service, bad parking more

BOTCHED JOB! DON'T GO TO THIS HOSPITAL 8/14/2009

I had a terrible experience at Springfield Animal Hospital. My dog was there for every shot and checkup since the day I got her. Basic stuff, in and out. Then it was time for my six-month old puppy to get spayed. Naturally, you go to the vet that has working with your dog and you would assume everything will be fine? Not this time. After the surgery, I was told to call after 6pm to check on her. I called and got no information whatsoever because they were busy and promised to call me back. I waited until 9 pm that night and still no call back from the hospital. Cons: Staff more
