Great Coffee, Not Good Tiramisu 6/20/2011

The atmosphere was nice but the food wasn't great. The tiramisu seemed watered down but they gave me a free cappucino! more

disgusting!!! 5/7/2010

AWFUL!! AWFUL!! AWFUL!!! Used to go all the time and it went downhill. Thought I'd give it a try and boy what a mistake. 30 mins to get appetizer which was followed 30 seconds later with my entree chicken and mashed potatoes. I asked the waitress why did i have to wait 30 mins to get my app and entree served at the same time. She simply said sorry and walked away.On top of it both were horrible. Manager took entree away and returned 20 mins later with dry chicken. The manager stated that the entree was a new order but it was so dry I find that hard to believe. I urge you to avoid this place at all costs.. It's worse then ever!!!!! Waitress was not worthy of a 36 dollar check, she belongs in a diner (if that) Cons: food, service and unprofessionalism. more

Would Love to Go Back 10/3/2009

My girlfriends and I went to Soyka during Miami Spice month. Daniel was out server and he did a wonderful job at taking care of us. Pros: Customer Service, Food, Abiance Cons: Can't think about one more

My Favorite Place to Eat! 4/6/2008

SOYKA! This is truly my favorite restaurant, hang-out and the place to meet friends. The prices are extremely reasonable, the food and service are always top notch. A very unusal atmosphere which feels more like NY than Miami and they are the pioneer in the neighborhood to which we are all thankful. Pros: FREE PARKING more

Uuugh! 11/10/2005

This place gets worse with each visit. Loud obnoxious waiters telling you how little they make (is that MY problem?)Mediocre food, LOUD room (BAD acoustics) It's no surprise that the Coconut Grove location failed: they would never put up with the crap that the uninformed Morningside crowd would! Pros: bad service, lousy food, way overpriced more

Let me go home 11/6/2005

here's some good advice. Stay home.the noise, surly waiters, lousy food really gets on your nerves. How they can charge such prices for this ""food"" is mind bogling. Pros: not one Cons: terrible service, dull food more

Uneven at Best 4/20/2005

The best you can say about Soyka is that you can expect the unexpected. After a lousy meal served by a polite waiter, you return for a fairly good meal served by the devil's son with an attitude from Hell. All of this goes on while the owner is busy schmoozing with his friends! The prices are too high for such uneven service and average, at best, food. No wonder why their other location in the Grove failed. Pros: plenty of parking Cons: bad, bad service, fair to below food more

Always enjoyable 12/30/2004

Soyka is a wonderful place...sophisticated with a relaxed atmosphere. I love the fact that we are recognized whenever we come in, and the waiters and waitresses are the best! The owner will come over to talk to you at any time! more

alsasa 9/10/2004

We are regulars at Soyka and love it, great service and great down to earth food...(except the Meat Loaf, it's OK) everything else is great for the value!!! A little bit of everything for everyone... Best Martini's in Miami and good ambiance... more

GREAT!!! 12/15/2003

GREAT FOOD and service. The chocolate souffle was EXCELLENT!! The menu had something for everyone. more

better for lunch.. 10/6/2003

If the mark of a good restaurant is consistency, then Im afraid Soyk is not good. Sandwiches and Burgers are good, but some of the entrees have missed their mark. Service has ranged from excellent to ""I'm doing you a favor by waiting on you"" from surly staff. Turkey club was ordered butTurkey burger was delievered (and returned with much attitude from waiter"". Good location in an up and coming area. Serviceable food, but nothing to write home about. Suburbans love it, as they feel they are being cool by eating there. You can do better. Pros: location, parking, value Cons: rude waiters, inconsistent more

a good pit-stop before the Des. District 6/18/2003

Don't go out of your way for this one, but the desserts and cocktails make it a worthwhile meeting place before hitting the beach or the Design District for the night. The BBQ chicken pizza was a little more than I-- and most, I'm sure--could handle. More often than not entrees seem better on paper than on your palate, which is a great reason to skip the meal and go straight to dessert. The dining room offers seats good and bad (i.e. stay away from the kitchen if you have anything to say to your friends) and on a crowded night it can be overwhelming. A nice try by the notable SoFla restaurateur, but somewhat of a let down. more

Not just a dining experience 1/17/2003

Anyone whos tired of miami dining and is in need of good food and a great dining experience, must come to Soyka. After driving through a neighborhood which could rival any urban ghetto, you reach an attractive sort of oasis. The decor is hip and you makes you feel like you are back in style. The sesame seared salmon is absolutely addictive and the wine selection is great. I will definetely go back with out of town friends. Soyka encompasses everything good and cool about Miami. Pros: great food, great service, great atmosphere Cons: so-so neighborhood more

Comfort Food at its best 1/2/2003

Go there when you are tired of regular restaurant food and feel like having something Grandma would have made - Meatloaf, Grilled Chicken with Veggies or a French Onion Soup big enough that it could be a main course. The restaurant bar is also great to have a drink before dinner. Pros: easy parking, great food variety Cons: no reservations, a/c on deep-freeze more

inimitably unpredictable... 12/30/2002

The most consistently uneven dining experience one could imagine. from long waits, to useless rude waitstaff, wonderful tables, to fabulous attentive helpful service. The food is good and well presented. But there are just about as many seating areas to lend diversity to the ambience. Maybe its the large dining room. Pros: ample parking, good selection, relaxed atmosphere Cons: uneven service, uneven food, uneven ambience more
