Southview Animal Hospital

I brought my dog to Southview for the first time because I had heard so many wonderful things. Believe me, it was all true. From the front staff, nurses, and doctors, the whole experience was wonderful. They spent alot of time going over information about my new dog. They are open everyday, even Sundays, and there is a Doctor on call after hours. Thank you Southview for caring so much about our pets. more

I brought my dog to south view animal hospital in the hopes to diagnosis his problem. My dog would mess in my house and drink water non stop. When researching this on the internet, It showed diabetes and possible tumors as a result of the his symptoms. I called to make an appointment to get a urine test done to check for diabetes or what ever it might be causing his sickness. When arriving for the appointment the doctor told me that I would need to have two test done since he had water, nobody told me not to give him water??? This should have been a red flag for me but I agreed because I was desperate to get this problem fixed with my dog. After the tests were done they came back negative. The doctor told me we would have to try more tests, so we did. All the tests coming back negative. I was about $800.00 dollars into tests and all the vets kept coming back with is ""we need to do more tests"". Frustrated I brought him down to south saint paul vet hospital. I explained the symptoms and the vet did one test that cost me $130.00. This test telling me he has a rare form of diabetes. It blows my mind that I spent $800.00 dollars at south view animal hospital and got no answer and spent $130.00 at south saint paul vet hospital and got an answer....Do the math. I have to say this isn't the first time south view animal hospital has given me the run a round. I spent close to $1000.00 dollars on my other dog and they never found what was causing her back problems...she eventually got better on her own. I am just giving my experience at south view animal hospital in hopes others can learn from my experience. To say the least I will be bringing my pets to another vet. more

I can't say enough about the Southview Animal Hospital. Dr. Foster has been amazing and he always follows through and calls back right away. Our rescue dog had a surgery there and the staff knows just how to handle animals, even when they are scared or excitable. During our dogs surgery they told me I could call and check in on him since he was staying over night, which I thought was very nice. I've never been to an animal hospital quite like this one. You can just see the love they have for all the animals. more

My Family and I have been using Southview Animal Hospital since it opened. They are always just a phone call a way for help at all times of the day and night. I never have to find an emergency Vet like so many other people I know do after hours and weekends. They can handle all kinds of animals. Dogs, Cats, Parrots, Rabbits, Ducks, Bearded Dragons and so on. That's a sample of the types of animals they have helped me with. Looking for a Vet.... Try mine!!!! more

I drive well out of my way to come here. The staff has always been amazing, and taken great care of my pets over the course of the past 8 years. I have trusted them with my very sick cat, and my tiny, tiny puppy. Their promise to always be there and answer my annoying list of questions has been so reassuring. I drive over 30 miles to go to this vet, as opposed to several within 10 miles of my house, just because of the trust factor...and they are very reasonably priced as well!!! more

This clinic has so many wonderful aspects. The staff is knowledgable and sweet. When I stop in for pet food or vaccinations or when one of my pets is ill, they are always proffesional and caring. I have my clinic for life! more

When our beloved dog was very sick Southview Animal Hospital come to our house to euthanize him at home. We were able to gather around him and our other pet was present which made a huge difference in her acceptance of losing a campanion. What a great service this was for our family! Thanks. more

I am always greeted with a smile when i walk in and the techs are alwaays very kind to me and my animal. This vet has saved my animals life several times weather it be 2pm or 4am they are there and ready to put every resorce of this well equiped clinic into the care of my animal. My cat was ill and I took her to see Dr. Foster at 3:30 AM. It turns out she was dehydrated and had a blockage. I thought she was not going to make it! Dr. Foster unblocked her and gave her medicine and fluids. The staff called me with an update the next morning. She was back home the following evening and is back to her sassy self! No matter if you are taking your very muched loved pets to the vet or the groomer, if you want them to be mistreated, this is the place for you. If you are one to like this place, then you just haven't caught them mistreating your animal yet. Believe me, they have been caught, more than a few times. If you are still going to go there, then I pray for your animal that they get returned to you safely. I was glad to learn that Sharon, the groomer is gone. She was one of the worst as how the animals were treated while there. The new groomers are no better, as I have a few friends that have tried them and mistreatment was also an issue. If you love your animal, you will take them somewhere else. Pros: there are no pros to this vet or the grooming Cons: worse place to take your animals more

I used to love this place. I caught them yelling at my cat and treating it very disrespectfully more

They are careless, wreckless, and drugged my dog. He was never the same after that. Sad. more

They seriously injured my puppy and tried to cover it up more

This is the BEST vet clinic in America! Everyone is caring, loving and fun! I have been taking my cats to this clinic for years. The staff remembers my kitty names, conditions.... they make house calls.... when my old man cat needed help going to kitty heaven, they came to my house..... they were so caring and understanding. Staff, Technicians, and Veterinarians are wonderful. I (my pets ) have been given wonderful care, even in emergency situations. My only 'gripe' is that I wish the office visit was longer. I would like a bit more time conversating with the Techs and Dr.'s. Overall, an excellent place to bring your pets. more
