We have never been been openly informed of the Park's planning requests to County Planning nor have we been solicited by the Park Board for our input on the Park's future development. Many of us were donors to the purchase of the Park and many of us attended the initial planning meetings where we made it clear that we supported the Park as agriculturally-zoned open space to be used in a low impact way, not as a concert venue. We support acoustic, local community events for under 300 persons that do not conflict with or harm the Park's documented cultural site for Wailaki Native People, wildlife habitat, river eco-system and agricultural values. We support the current AE zoning of the Park.\r

Advocating for a natural, scenic and undisturbed Park. One that would only allow: walking, hiking, bicycling, horse back riding, swimming, boating, fishing, nature study by individuals, families or small groups, picnics, weddings, celebrations, memorials by families or small groups, and impromptu recreation by families or small groups and a working Community Farm and other Ag projects for the Community and for-profit Farm Ag uses?\r

We wish to register our opposition to amplified concerts, festivals, fundraisers and public gatherings at the Southern Humboldt Community Park. Affected wildlife & neighborhoods must be allowed to keep their peace and quiet. Acoustic music is the way for the Park to be a good neighbor.\r

We oppose a zone change and land use designation change via a General Plan Amendment. Please reject the GPA.\r

We reject the following principally permitted uses by the SHCP of the AE Tooby Flat: Amplified music Events, Housing Development, Commercial Recreation, Motorized Recreation, RV/Camping Facilities and Parking on the River Bar.\r
