Wow 12/5/2009

Well after hearing about some bad publicty on this site I have decided to post my own comment. Most of the negative feedback can be singled out to the very student that wrote the blog. I made a promise to my industry and my community that I would graduate good ,caring and educated workers. Not all of our students are successful in completing our programs. I hold high standards and educational values. We are a for profit organization that offers per-diem part time positions to our employees. With that being said full time positions are not availablel Most people need to work 40 + hours to survive today. I open my door to all our past and present staff that still stay in touch.\r \r So if you would like to interview and come to our school we would gladly meet with you. Remember positive, empathetic and compassionate people need to apply. We do not work in healthcare and care for all well patients. They come to us usually needing our help. They are usually ill. I love what I do and it is rewarding when you help individuals that need your help. Our office #508-536-5366 call us !\r \r Pros: High Standards more

Very Happy with class 12/2/2009

I enjoyed the medical assistant class at this school I would suggest all potential students to go. It is not an easy school You need t study.....alot! The program is long and you attend daily. The clinical was excellent and I got hired this Fall at a Dr.s office. Pros: helpful instructors very knowledgeable of material Cons: its over more

new instructors are wonderful 5/15/2009

I read the reviews below and must say this place must of had a huge turnaround. What awesome group of instructors . I went to visit the school and I must say I am going here because of the instructor and the facility. I am determined to do well and I am sure I made the right choice more

I just wanted to let anyone and everyone who is considering to go to Southcoast healthcare training in new bedford, TO GO!!! i have had problems with debbie gomes in the past. She has rectified them beyond what i expected!!!! She is extremely helpful, honest and CARING TO YOUR NEEDS!!! All u have to do is call her....she is definitely there for you, as she was for me!!!! Good luck to all the new students, you will have a great experience at a great school with great teachers!!!!!! Pros: EVERYTHING Cons: NOTHING more

Happy Happy Happy 5/7/2009

I had a wonderful experience at this school I am working full time and it was because of the great instructors and staff . No complaints here !I personally would not listen to the comments below. I do not believe them. I know the school has some rough characters that are not happy no matter how much they asked for and recieved. Not easy working with people that do not want to better themselves and rather complain than take responsibility for their education I recommend Southcoast! more

THIS IS THE MOST HORRIBLE SCHOOL ON THE FACE OF THE PLANET 4/18/2009

THIS SCHOOL STUNK I DID MY PHELBOTOMY CLASS IN JUNE WAS DONE IN JULY AND HAD TO DO MY EKG COURSE IN SEPTEMBER MIND MYOU I NEVER WOULD USE IT..., THEN HAD TO DO MY CLINICAL FOR THE PHELBOTOMY IN OCTOBER MADE NO SENSE.. I ENDED UP GETTING HIRED WHEN I WAS DONE WITH IT BUT I COULD HAVE HAD A JOB IN JULY INSTEAD. THE CLASS WAS UNORGANIZED THE TEACHER WAS A WACK JOB AND NEVERMIND WE HAD A LUNCH THAT WAS LIKE TWO HOURS WE ONLY HAD 1 CLASS A WEEK!!!! VERY BAD Pros: I GOT A JOB Cons: TOOK TO LONG more

Horrible School!! Save your money!!!! 4/7/2009

I have yet to get my C.N.A. certificate even though I paid for the exam (and Debbie has not given me a date!!) and we have never taken the CPR course which was supposed to be part of the class!!!! Very disorganized class!!!!! Debbie NEVER returns calls!!! Only when I tell her that I am going to file a complaint against her with the state that she returns my calls. Then once again I'm right back to where I was!!! IGONORED!!!! I'm all set trying to reach her....let the state handle this situation...as I am not the only one who is mad!! Cons: everything more

Past students still unhappy, still owe CPR classes. 3/17/2009

I'm glad that some of the people are happy with the class...maybe they have cleaned up their act...but they still owe CPR classes that were paid for in advance to many students that graduated in March 2009. I have called numerous times and never once received a reply concerning the CPR class that is still owed to me/us. I guess its no longer a priority since they have been paid. I rather pay more money and go somewhere else for any future training that I plan to enroll in. more

10 years ago this school was satisfactory and I enjoyed Deb Gomes as a person and instructor!!!!! 3/9/2009

I am shocked to see these reviews because when I attended this training it was definatlely worth it and I did work as a C.N.A. Deb Gomes was a great instructor and person. It sounds to me like she just has too much on her plate from what I remember her home life was very busy and being a mother of three myself I know how hard it can be trying to juggle kids and work ect. It sounds like the company has grown but it's obvious the staffing is not up to par which will make for a difficult situation to anyone trying to run a program. This just does not sound like the Deb Gomes I knew or the training I attended.!!!! Good Luck more

Great Class !! 1/19/2009

Just wanted to write a review because I read reviews before I signed up. I was very happy with the class and teacher Mrs. Gomes was very nice. I am working .I went to the career center to do a job search. I would encourage someone to take this class. I did learn alot and met a few students that I know I will stay in touch with. Pros: interesting class more

satisfied student 12/26/2008

I just want to comment on the experience I had at Southcoast. I am a satisfied and grateful student who attended this past year and cannot say enough about Deb Gomes. She is a nurse with compassion and willingness to help those who want to succeed. She doesnt take stalk in the unprofessonal ,lazy not serious about patient care type of students. So, I would think those are the ones complaining cause I believe she would not encourage this type of person to enter the patient care arena. Her biggest impression that she left on me was her passion for commitment and empathy as an individual. Her heart is in her work and you need to prove your worthy of caring for another if you want her support. So my advise. Stop with the bad comments and prove you can do the job responsibly than yo will get her attention! Pros: professional more

one to take resposibility for their own success 9/25/2008

Debra Gomes was my CNA instuctor 14 years ago. She is an excellent nurse with teaching qualities everyone desires. She has helped me through CNA school 14 years ago and has remained in contact with me 14 years later as i became an RN myself. She continues to assist me in education and always willing to be a reference for employment for me. She is an amazing person , nurse, and business woman. Students cannot expect to have an instructor hold their hand all the time.....you do need to take charge of your own education and display some independence while in the classroom and during your clinical training. Your future employer will not do your job for you! more

Training is better! 8/7/2008

\r I hope some people out there will appreciate this school because there is a new teacher who does a pretty decent job. A positive experience is what is the opitmal experience for everyone! I think giving the school another chance is considerate. I know a lot of happy students who passed their CNA state test and things were great. The teacher there tries very hard to help everyone succeed! Pros: Great STAFF Cons: COMMUNICATION DELAYS more

Awesome C.N.A./H.H.A. Class 7/12/2008

I would recommend taking the C.N.A. class . I had a positive experience and am now working as a licensed C.N.A. after graduating in May 2008. The classes were not too big and the instructor was very knowledgeable about the course information. I am going back to take the MA course at the Fall River campus next September. Pros: thumbs up more

enjoyed the class 7/12/2008

highly recommend Medical Assistant program Would like to say program was informative and I found a job within 2 weeks of graduation. Computer instructor very enthusiastic and fun. Pros: thumbs up more
