WORST SKATING RINK I'VE EVER BEEN TOO 4/11/2010

To call this place a dump is a compliment. Everywhere you looked it was dirty. Not just dirty- years and years of piled on filth from not cleaning up the place-especially the floor. How it passes the health inspection is beyond me. There are drink spills on the walls next to the rink that haven't been cleaned up to the point where mold is growing on old dried up soda. There is a 3 in gap between the wall and the rink floor. You can even see the dirt from the ground. Doesn't apprear too safe to me. Wowwander must work there or own the place. According to their review the place has been updated and is safe- it didn't apprear to be updated at all. Liked the kiddie skating area but the paint on the floor is peeling and then there are areas in there covered with plywood. That doesn't say safe to me. The disco ball is so dusty it doesn't even shine anymore. Don't look up at the ceiling either. Don't even get me started on the bathrooms. Went there for a bday party. Won't be returning. Wanted to take a shower after I left there because of how gross it was. Pros: MUSIC Cons: OMG!!! EVERTHING ELSE READ ON...... more

It's OK. 8/12/2008

We arrived at 6:45 but were told we could not enter until 7:00, so we had to wait in a packed entry area, which was extremely HOT due to the fact that there was no air conditioning. Not the best environment with three kids in tow. Several people got fed up with it and left. Finally about 7:10 they opened the window and started selling tickets. The interior was extremely dingy and old looking but, on the positive side, the skating surface was in pretty good shape. The pizza, which was included in the price of skating, was actually very good. The beverages were overpriced, though. All in all, it was an OK experience, but not sure that we will return. Pros: Reasonable entry price, good pizza, dirty/dated interior Cons: Entry area very hot, inside also a bit warm, overpriced drinks more

Thumbs up for Fun! 12/16/2007

Thumbs up for fun. Our youth group always chooses Skate Central for their Christmas Party. The kids say that they have good music, the pizza is the best (I agree, much better than the chain pizza franchises) and the owner and staff are helpful and friendly. It is a good value. \r \r The kids have fun and the parents enjoy themselves too. more

Updated review on one of few family rinks 12/23/2005

The carpet and wall designs have been totally updated. Maintains large catalogue of music, and a safe environment for pre-teens, and teens. It is a wonderful place for childrens partys, with a reserved area for such events. Boasts a toddler area to assist the smaller skaters to learn. A hard wood skating floor (not linoleum or particle board) maintained to competition skating guidelines. Continuously updated arcade, with air hockey and crane machine. Personal skates permitted though rental of house skates is free. Closed skate classes for all levels of skates are available. In a day where family recreation business close down, this family owned and operated rink is a stead fast and reliable location. Closed parties for schools/church groups are available. The adjacent church and business permit patrons parking. If you are looking for recreation, a party with pizza and cake, or exercise this is a great value. Pros: Pizza buffet, Fun for the family, Great snack bar Cons: Party slots may fill more

unpleasant at best 11/23/2003

This place looks like it hasn't been updated since the roller rink heyday of the 70's! I admit I was there for a child's birthday part so I 'm looking at this from a parent's perspective, but the overall feel of the place made me want to go home and bathe! The carpet is held together with duct tape, the entry area has a pawn-shop style buzzer door set-up (with about 15 people packed in at any given time) the parking lot is close to frightening. Not to mention there is NO regulation of the patrons, there were older kids leaping over the benches where you change your shoes, leaping over the wall dividing off the beginner area, zipping through the snack bar area. I don't know any alternative places to recommend, but I would recommend finding them if you want to go skating. Pros: decent music Cons: run down, unruly patrons more
