The thing is your bit handing a child a "loaded gun" if the child can control their self. The instructor has knowledge in what he does but it seems he's let himself slip I went back to my tae Kwan do class and even talked to a guy that does Shito ryu in E-town and he said he knew all about that school and how students came there from shaolin kenpo karate and they needed a lot of work, as far as rank bottom line I've don't martial arts scince I was 12 years old I 100% earned my rank with broken bones hard work detication and GOOD INSTRUCTION A D TECHNIQUES that work. It saved my life twice in Afghanistan. No other school insulted me and told me I couldn't wear my rank, HOWEVER I had the color stripe based on the color belt level I was in that school, right next to my 1st Dan stripe more

Being a Black Belt is more than self defense, it is an attitude for life, and in life we must learn to be humble which sometimes means taking a step back and learning from someone elses perspective no matter belt you have earned in the past. Obviously someone left that out of your training. I have studied many different systems of martial arts and in each I started over even though I was a Black Belt. I am glad I did. more

Misleading 5/15/2012

I went to this school and not punching to the head unless you are a black belt is unrealistic, if my child gets attacked he won't just hit to the body he will mix it up and destroy is nemisis I have been taught Self control and discipline but just the same more options are open with head punches included shorin ryu taught head punches when you start the class regardless of age or rank. But some styles are just more hardcore in that respect. As far as belts go I am not a purple belt I earned my black so should be able to keep it. It seems like ingot taken to purple because if I was black there wouldn't be as much money comming out of my wallet. He did an evaluation and based you belt off of that well its pretty easy to place someone when you only let them show basic techniques. Chien respectfully more
