Being a true lover of all things BBQ, and go out of my way to go to mom and pop places to find the best, i was really surprised by the new chain of Shane's Rib Shack. It was hands down some of the best BBQ I have tasted. We went to the Gainesville location on a friday night, as friends had recommended it, and I went in being a little apprehensive. The atmosphere is made to make it look like an actual shack, but kiche'. We had to place our order at the front counter, and we were greeted by a very personable girl, how made some suggestions. I have the Baby back Ribs (since it was in the name of the place, figured it had to be their trademark.) My companion got the "Big Dad" sandwhich. We got our drink cups (self service on this) and made our way to a booth. The place was fairly busy, and we saw a lot of families there, but noise level wasn't bad. Next thing I know we got our food, couldn't have been more than 5 mnutes since we ordered. The ribs were tremendous. Super tender, meaty and moist, and a great sweet/vinegar type glazed sauce. The sides of coleslaw and beans we equally delicious. What amazed me most was the size of the Big Dad pulled pork sandwich, it was huge. Overall it was a great eaxperience, and we definately plan on returning again and again. Great service, friendly staff, and to die for BBQ, only draw back for us was no beer or wine available, but will not deter us from returning.
Pros: Fast Friendly service, quantity of food per plate, definately taste
Cons: No beer or wine,
