Sestra Bridal and Evening Wear

Well, two weddings in one year! Feburary, my son got married. His bride found her dream dress here and the bridesmaids too. (my daughter was one of the 5 bridesmaids) We had such an amazing time with ALL of the ladies at Sestras that when my daughter then got engaged and was planning an November wedding there was no question where to go for dresses and tux. The wedding dress she found was perfect as well as the eggplant bridesmaids dresses. It's so great when you can find everything you need in one place but the best is when that place is filled with verrrrry carrying, friendly, sisters that really do Care about you and know how fun and at times a little stressful the planning of weddings can be. As the mom of the groom then of the bride ( Feb. & Nov. 2011) I can not tell you how wonderful it is to work with Sestra. I have one more son and just between you and me I do hope it's going to be at least a year or so before wedding bells ring again, but when they do I will strongly recommend his bride-to-be go to Sestra.I think I'll just stop in there from time to time and say hey to the girls. They're like family now. ;) more

As soon as I became engaged to my fianc? I knew I wanted a unique dress that incorporated my favorite color pink. I started my search at Sestra but didn't find the ?one? at first. So, I went off and scoured the Richmond area to find the perfect dress. Just as I was about to give up I returned to Sestra to take a look at the new lines. I quickly fell in love with a Christina Wu gown and ordered that day. I custom ordered the gown to fit my measurements. The custom fit saved on alterations and was well worth the extra charge. The gown arrived on schedule and was perfect. Additionally, I worked with Sestra to custom order a veil to compliment my gown. Not only did my wedding gown come from Sestra but so did the tuxes, mother's gowns and bridesmaid gowns. Our order was filled flawlessly by the ladies of Sestra. One of my bridesmaid's gowns was ordered from Jordan's maternity line. I worked with one of Sestra's seamstresses to change the design of the dress when it arrived. She was 9 months pregnant the day of my wedding and looked beautiful. Our experience was professional and Sestra and their seamstresses all performed the services that were promised. Every promise was kept and all of our items arrived on time and in perfect order. I highly recommend Sestra and their seamstresses. I truly hate to write a review that only has one star because it's not in my nature. I will start by saying that Sestra does offer thousands of dress styles not only for the bride, but for the bridesmaids as well. I purchased my bridal gown at Bella Rosa (who are great by the way!) prior to finding my dream bridesmaid dresses at Sestra. When I entered Sestra Jenifer (one of the sisters) met me at the door and helped a few of my girls try on different styles/colors so I could make a final decision. She was wonderful at that time. We found the dress I wanted and decided to add a black sash to it that was on a different dress. She made it seem like it was the easiest fix. I was told my girls could just pay an additional $40.00 per dress and that would cover the sashes material and getting them sewn on. Needless to say, when it came time for the girls to get the sashes attached, the price went way up. I was told that they never agreed to that and that they could not do it for that price. After breaking down in tears on the phone because my NINE girls that each purchased their dresses from Sestra Bridal for $238.00/person (without alterations!) would have to spend an additional $60.00 on their sash to have it made and sewn on. This brings the total price for a sash to $100.00. That is CRAZY! I loved the sash when I first saw it and $40.00 was perfect, I decided I would buy the girls their shoes and they could buy the sash in place of the shoes so they wouldn't be spending a crazy amount. To make a long story short, my mom ended up paying for all of the girls sashes on her credit card so they would be allowed to pick up their dresses (since sestra was not going to release them even though they had already spent $238.00 on them $40.00 of that being for the sash!) so the girls could get their dresses. I found out from Jenifer herself that the alterations are not through Sestra. It's from other alteration companies that come in and do the work for them. I was told that they had nothing to do with Sestra. I don't understand her saying this because 1. If Sestra hires a company to do work for them and they are handling the money/payments and the reciept says Sestra, then as far as I am concerned Sestra is to be held accountable for that work to the consumer. If after they make it right with the customer Sestra wants to fight out the situation behind closed doors with the help they hired thats fine, but thats not what they do! They do not have a policy of THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT. Bottom line, I have been a customer service representative at the same company for 7 years, you ALWAYS make sure the customer is happy in the end. Believe me with nine girls purchasing from sestra for my wedding, they didn't loose any money at all. Of my nine girls, 6 were planning their weddings right behind me. All of them were planning on using Sestra for their dress and bridesmaids dresses as well. In the end after them hearing conversations I had on the phone and dealing with Sestra their selves, none of them used sestra. I wish I had a positive review to write but this is far from it. If you do use Sestra, make sure you get every last promise in writing with a signature! more

The sisters were wonderful, nice, sweet, attentive!! I found my dream dress here. There dresses were of great quality and at a great price! The seamstress they provided for me was absolutely amazing! She did great work and was a joy to work with. If you haven't found your dress yet, definitely visit this shop! Pros: Great Service, Great Selection, Great Prices! Cons: A little far from where I live, but worth the drive! more

I visited this store several times while searching for the perfect wedding dress. While I didn't end up finding it here, the consultants are the nicest people, and very helpful! They were genuinely excited about the process and knowledgeable about their dresses, like a bridal shop should be. Highly recommended! more
