SANDCASTLE MOM 3/26/2006

This will be the third year that my family and I have gotten season passes to this water park. It is great. They have a fast pass where season pass holders can just fly thu. They have a lot of slides, a lazy river, two different children's pools, a go-kart track, and a wave pool. There is something for everyone. There is numerous fast food stands. They have a gift shop. They recently added some games to play. They have a arcade. There is a all you can buffet. They give a small discount for season pass holders. They also show movies in the wave pool on Thursday night. This place is great. more

Fun! 10/22/2005

My dad used to take my sisters and me here several times each year. It is so much fun and very much worth the small ticket price. There are so many water slides, great food, a large pool. We could stay all day and never get bored with it. There are gift shops and we always left with something to bring home! more

Sandcastle is Great fun! 9/2/2005

Sand castle is one of those places you can go when the weather is just too hot to do anything. They have amazing food (Boardwalk Burgers and Fries) nice pools, a great lifeguarding staff and some pretty fun slides. If you are an older teenager the rides can be pretty dull, pretty fast, but for the younger ones, you could stay all day and never think about leaving. The only con is the wave pool, its too small, very crowded and someone always seems to go under and they have to stop the waves. other then that Sandcastle is amazing! more

Bar great on weekends 8/20/2005

During the summer on weekends, Sandcastle becomes a giant bar for 21 year olds and up. Depending on the weather, many will frequent the pool and saunas, with very questionable clothing, making it a great place to have some drinks and people watch. The last couple weeks of the summer they have great specials, including 50 cent drink hours, and all-night reduced prices. They don't use top-shelf liquor, but what do you expect in Pittsburgh? more

Pittsburgh's water park 8/11/2005

I definitely recommend Sandcastle on some hot summer day. You'll have an absolute blast. Sandcastle has tons of water slides. It also has a lazy river so you can just relax and work on your tan. They have a pretty good deal on season passes so if you think you'll want to go back again, I'd recommend that option. If possible, try to avoid peak times (go on weekdays or late in the season) to avoid the crowds. more

So Fun! 8/5/2005

Sandcastle Waterpark and Riverplex Picnic Area are located along the scenic shores of the Monongahela River, just a short drive from downtown Pittsburgh in the Waterfront Entertainment Complex. Sandcastle is the perfect place for your "Vacation in a Day"! Groups can share a catered meal in the river view pavilions at Riverplex, where we offer a budget friendly get-together with the convenience-- and excitement-- of the waterpark right next door! What is Sandcastle? Sandcastle is a waterpark located just minutes from downtown Pittsburgh. It features 14 major waterslides, wave pool, hot tub, children's attractions, and bar area, all of which are located along a river-view, old-fashioned Boardwalk. Other things to do include riding the Formula One go-karts, gaming in the arcade, and browsing in the Boardwalk Gift Shop. Sandcastle will be open in 2005 from June 4th through August 28th, and also September 3rd through 5th. Gates open at 11:00am and close between 6:00pm-7:00pm, depending on the crowd size and weather. Sandbar, Sandcastle's 21 and older nighttime operation, is open Friday and Saturday nights from May 27th to September 17th. Sandbar begins at 5:00pm during the regular waterpark season, and at 8:00 pm on May 27-28, June 3, Sept. 2, and Sept. 9th throught Sept. 17th.
