Good food, great service 12/1/2008

Good: We drove 60 miles to eat there. Not the first time. It's great for a treat. Will be going again in the future. Our waitress was very attentive and if she was busy another waitress would step in.. more

Worth driving for. 11/4/2006

We drove down from Hillsdale Mi. after hearing that this was a place we should check out.(35 miles) I would like to say it was well worth the drive. The food was very good and the service was great. My wife and I had the chicken breast and my son the shrimp. Both dinners were really good. It was a complete dinner with vegetable plate, salad, awesome potato fries, dinner and desert(cheesecake). My glass of soda was never empty as the waitress did a great job of keeping it full. We will make the drive back in the future. more

Unique Restaurant 10/8/2005

This restaurant is located in an old barbershop in downtown Blakeslee-a town you will miss if you blink. It has grown over the years, but has kept its same style. People come from miles away to eat there. The menu is written above the bar and stays the same-steak, chicken, fish and shish kabobs. The restaurant was started by an immigrant family from Syria and is now being run by the third generation. They serve Wednesday through Saturday nights. Tthe meal comes with wonderful potato chips made on the premises-thicker and deep fried-You cannot stop eating them. they also sometimes will serve appetizers that fill you up. they have two special drinks, the Mose Hopper and another drink that no one knows the recipe for. the Mose Hoppers is named for the original owner. You can make reservations. If you do not you will probably at for a table. The restaurant has not changed. It is simple, not fancy at all and is dark inside. It is clean and the staff is very friendly.. more
