childhood in salida 4/18/2011

I've been coming to Salida woods since the age of 4(I' m 14 now) And you all are exaggerating! My mother's name is Alla And She's been working there since 2000! Most of the staff is really nice and caring, of coarse I cant say its a 5 star hotel but I cant say its a bad place either, there is always some activity for the residents to and the food is actually pretty good, and the exterior and interior is just filled with beauty, so before going around spreading bull, check your sources and look at the positives !!!!!!!!!!!! more

A warehouse for old people 6/11/2010

At times the staff actually calls residents by their room number instead of their name. That says it all.\r Dementia residents are mixed with non-dementia patients. It isn't so fun for the non-dementia residents. \r My friend complains that diabetic friendly food is difficult.\r Some of the staff is really nice. more

Unsatisfied...... 9/25/2007

I was so excited when I heard that my grandma was moving to Salida Woods. I occasionally drive pass the building and it is absolutely beautiful, especially compared to other assisted living facilities I have seen or visited. However, as cliche as it may sound, looks were definitely deceiving. When I first entered into the building, though the interior was nice, I couldn't believe the amount of wheel chairs, especially ones with table top constraints. I'm not exactly sure what assisted living entales, but I always believed it to be a little more independent. My grandma's room was an ok size, but it smelled and the trash was overflowing. This really upset me and I know my grandma was embarrassed. I spoke with several of the patients and none were thrilled with the establishment or how they were treated. All in all, be careful where you choose to send your mother or father. I love my grandma but unfortunately have no say in where she lives. more

good night sleep 9/20/2007

Finally! For the first time in several years I had a 3 full nights of sleep in a row. My mom has dementia. She couldn't take care of herself the right way. We searched for an assisted living home for mom for close to a year. We finally found a gem in Salida Woods. They just started a remodeling project--but we asked for the old decorations. Why would they waste such beautiful things? \r The girls that work there are so nice. Everyone introduced themselves and weclomed mom "home"! That made even my husband cry. The food was very good. We had lunch and dinner with mom-- the pot roast was better than mom ever made.- she agreed!\r The location is great. Other patients sit out on the front porch in the evening and chat until well after dark. The ladies greated my mom and invited her to sit with them while we moved boxes. The whole process went good- I was afraid the whole move would be a bad dream.\r I am so glad our doctor recommended this place. I was surprised that they were more

OUTSTANDING 9/19/2007

My mother has been a resident at Salida Woods for over five years. We chose them due to their being almost $500 per month less than everyone else and recommendations from friends.\r \r While it's not a Hilton Hotel, they focus on what's important - caring for Mom.\r \r We've found all their staff to be warm and caring - Linda and Karen are pivotal in making sure mom is safe, secure and well cared for. more

UNREAL 8/25/2007

This place looks like it's falling apart. There is carpet torn and ripped inside the dining area and the columns throughout the building have paint peeling off of them. For the kind of money they charge my family its very disturbing. I ate with my grandmother there and the food was pretty bad. Dont get me wrong, it's not a bad place............but for what they charge it's horrible. Also, watch out for Linda............she's nice to you before you sign the contract but after that good luck with getting in touch with her. more

VERY HIGH IN PRICE 9/3/2005

THEY SERVICE THEIR RESIDENTS PRETTY GOOD BUT THE PRICE PER MONTH IS QUITE HIGH. LOVELY INSIDE BUT PERSONEL IS NOT QUITE UP TO STANDARDS FOR THE MONEY THAT THE RESIDENTS PAY. I HAVE SEEN OTHER ASSISTED LIVING FACILITIES, AND THEY SEEM TO DO A BETTER JOB WITH THE RESIDENTS, I THINK THEY CAN IMPROVE ON THEIR SERVICES TO THE RESIDENTS, AND HAVE A LITTLE BETTER ATTITUDE TOWARDS THEM.
