Worst

at one time this was the top-end of sushi in the New Orleans area. but high prices, attitude from the staff, and obnoxious uptown yuppie clientele took this off the list long ago....

Great sushi 10/9/2005

Finding a japanese restaurant in New Orleans isn't hard, finding a good one is. Sake Cafe is definitely among the good ones. All of the Sake Cafe's located in the city have wonderful interiors and enviroments that make it pleasant to dine in. The service is almost always top notch. Most importantly though the food is quite tasty and appealing. The sushi usually comes out in a nice timely manner. Alot of times at other japanese places the sushi seems rushed or just not put together properly. So when you go dip the sushi in soy sauce it always seems to fall apart. At Sake the sushi is top notch. It taste great and looks to have not been rushed. Among the favorites of mine are the vegatable tempura and seaweed salad. more

this restaurant is the best japanese restaurant in new orleans. actually the owner of the restaurant is chinese but they really offered great japanese food here! the service here is the best too. I love this place! the food is always fresh and tasty! really yummy! If you want to try some japanese food in new orleans, this one is the one you have to go! more

Sake café is a very modern sushi restaurant. It’s located Uptown near Washington off Magazine street. It was once a Rite Aid, but you’d never know it from the cool interior. The best lighting I’ve seen in New Orleans. Try to go for happy hour with low prices on sushi. They take reservations too. Good idea for the busy weekends. more

best sushi in town 7/27/2005

I am a very picky eater and I don't normally eat any type of seafood. Now, Sake Cafe has changed my tune. It's only crab meat so not a big risk in the world of seafood. Their crunchy rolls are the best I've ever had in New Orleans. Crispy crunchy, crab meat with a cream cheese type of sauce & fresh avocado. The osumachi soup is delish and the garden salad's ginger dressing has a nice kick to it. very modern decor and the coolest light fixtures! more
