I took my out of town guests to Sage last night. I have had many excellent means there! Last night was a total disappointment! Service was up to par but the food was average to say the least! No presentation, just lots of mediocre food piled on the plate! I orderd the Cornish Game Hen and received a chicken! When I questioned it, they said it was their version on a Cornish Game Hen and then offered a free desert to make up for it! Overall the meal was a disappointment to myself and my guests! more

I loved the food-delish. However-the service was fair . The place was 1/2 empty and our beverages were never refilled until we asked -lots of staff around but no one attending to customers. I would go back because of food - if service is your thing go somewhere else . Mick Scalzo more

I am upset. The first time I ate here I had the escargot and the crepe Suzzane and it was so amazing I dreamed about it. Then I went that summer to have the 2 for 1 lunch and ordered the same things. The escargot was escargot I mean its an easy thing to make its from a can. But I had the crepe and was so sad! It tasted like mayonnaise and was soggy. I almost wept. I will never return because I had my heart broken. Now I make my own Crepe Suzzane and it's almost as good as the first time I ever went. But I love the Olsen mural on the wall more

My wife and I visit Ft. Lauderdale from time to time to see family, and sage is always a must do. Every time we have been it has always been good. The service is always nice to. more

3 out of 4 items were good, but I really don't like having a 30% tip placed on the bill. Apparently the 2 for 1 lunch is some sort of coupon deal. They charge tax and tip on the full amount before the deduction. So its not as good a deal as it seems. more

The best thing on the menu is their "coquilles saint jacques"!! The food is good but a bit pricey... more

Affordable - French Cuisine…. Oxymoron? I THINK NOT!\r \r Sage Cafe is a quaint, cozy little french cafe on North Federal Highway in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.\r \r I met a group of friends and acquaintances for dinner at this little eatery, and was just as pleased with the food as I was with the company! It was the Sunday night after the Internet Marketers Spring Break, in which I attended a few coctail/brewsky events… that we headed to the Sage Cafe, courtesy of Brandy from Web Master Radio, for a calm down evening of great food and conversation.\r \r The ambiance inside is intimate, comfy and chic, with dim lighting and colorful original art pieces lining the exposed brick walls, a feature that is few and far between in South Florida.\r \r I ordered the Tomato salad for starters… very basic, sliced tomatoes with thinly sliced onions, basil and pepper… Honestly, the last time I remember tasting a decent tomato was in Italy, but the presentation was done well!\r \r The French Onion Soup was done very well! No complaints!\r \r The seafood stew was quite large, contrary to the French stereotype… the broth was tomato based, rich in flavor, light, not too heavy or acidic. The stew was filled with white fish, salmon, muscles, scallops and shrimp, all culminating together in the intricately seasoned broth. Divine!\r \r I had ordered a special of the evening, a stuffed sea bass with crab meat, in a light cream tarragon sauce over rice… The dish was very good, and the greens were cooked perfectly, still crispy and lightly seasoned.\r \r My friend Frank Watson, AKA AussieWebmaster had ordered the Oso Buco, which he really enjoyed… he said the dish was both flavored and cooked well, and that they served a nice piece of meat. The portion was also quite large… astonishing for French Food!\r \r The service was friendly, attentive and never made us feel rushed… even by the end of the night, when we were the only table left and the staff wanted to leave. more

For the romantic 2/13/2007

I had a great experience at Sage. It was the classic romantic dinner. Great food with a charming and cozy atmosphere. Its nothing like the pretentious and gaudy restaurants that are springing up all over South Florida. Pros: Romantic, good value Cons: Located in a strip-mall more
