I have had very bad experiences with 6/11/2012

I have had very bad experiences with the CILNCP. I used to work for them as a volunteer, and I saw them misuse funds. They also opposed me when I tried sincerely to improve wheelchair access in Williamsport. When I blew the whistle on them for these unethical and illegal activities, they started to harass and threaten me. Living in Williamsport's disability system is awful, and much of the blame for this terrible state of affairs falls squarely on the shoulders of the CILNCP. more

total fraud 4/24/2012

This place is a total fraud and hoax!!! They have lost most of the great staff they used to have and that has made the consumers and the agency suffer great losses! This is mostly due to those at the top who care only about themselves and not those they should care about. However, this agency does provide many wonderful services to the people who need them and the staff do work hard to try to help those with disabilities. more

RTF CAN help you! 5/24/2011

Anyone who has something bad to say about a non-profit organization who's mission is to helps individuals with disabilities function independently should be embarrassed and ashamed of themselves. You should be thanking God everyday for the life you have, not knocking an organization because your bitter about something. Roads to Freedom has an amazing staff, every person there will go out of their way to help there consumers. They are all genuinely nice and heartwarming people. Money has nothing to do with it! The organization is expanding more and more each year and that should say something on it's own. It takes hard work, an amazing staff and loyalty to their mission for a organization to grow and thats what Roads to Freedom has. more

Stop The Hate 4/28/2011

You really need to stop the Hater attitute. Life is too short; keep the focus on yourself or else just keep griping about your own current job. CILNCP is a great place for consumers & volunteers to come and receive services. more

A place to turn to when you dont know what to do.. 4/14/2011

I came to RTF to try the lending library to find the assistive tech device that worked best for me. For free i was able to try as many devices as i wanted until i found the 1 that suited me most. What struck me most was how comfortable the staff made me feel. it was the only place i had ever been where i didn't feel like people were staring or judging me. All of the staff i met were helpful and kind. I was also approved for an Indepence waiver that allowed me to hire attendants to help take care of me. I have never felt more at home anywhere else. I enjoy just hanging out in the lounge and visiting with staff and volunteers, who always take the time to talk to me. I recomend anyone with a disability that needs training or just some socializatiion to go there. RTF gave my life meaning. more

Without them i would not know what i would have done 4/11/2011

They have done such great services for my boy, from peer mentoring him to assisting him at finding a job + the programs and services that he needed. Ignore the bad reviews on here as it seems like they are just people looking for a free ride or abusing the system. This company followed everything by the book to the notch. and for the other comments - my boy did shredding. documsnts are not left out. only given to volunteers when they doing the job of shredding. Financials - did my research. 1 million in, 1 million in services accounded for. ook it up @ fdncenter. and google pa state budget cuts on disability services. more

Many services 4/6/2011

(1) They have an autism support group (2) help with independent Living skills training (teach cooking, laundry hygene, ect.) (3) Do the Payroll for over 300 attendants who the person with the disability hire (hence independent living) (4) Soon to have a fitness center (5) NHT gets people out of nursing homes and living on their own (6) Accessbility demo center - where someone with a disability can demo accessible products to see if they will help in there lives. also provides free wheel chairs and scooters that are donated. (7) Employment - help people with disabilities get jobs (8) Free sign language classes The above not improve the lifes of many that have disabilities. Check out the new website... There are many more services They also are funded through education which (RSA) always gets funding cut every year. That is why there isn't much money but with what they have, they have done some amazing things. The new building has a Huge lounge area, accessible kitchen, 2 computer training labs, demo center and more. You should stop in, in person before believing some of these opinions as the staff have changed to some degree and the services have expanded. more

These people are full of crap 3/8/2011

I ve done some homework on this place. They do some pretty underhanded stuff. They claim not to have any money and have the money cut but public records show over 3 million dollars. What a waste of tax money to call a plce like that and have someonoe lie to you and say were sorry but we just dont have the funding to hire people to take on any more cases right now. If that is the case then where the heck is all the money going? more

Great Place 1/1/2011

Helped someone from my Church Get a scooter for free when they became disabled. more

These people have no clue how to help the disabled 7/28/2010

I know six different people that have called this center this year for help and got nothing. They were told that there is no money to hire any workers to serve the disabled. But their website shows tons of employees and a huge amount of directors. What do they do all day if they can't help those who call for help? They get money from the government to help the disabled but do not do anything to help them. What do they do with their money if they do not have enough to hire people that will actually go out and give the disabled people what they need. Pros: They are great liars Cons: Only care about what will make them look good and get more $ more

What a fraud! 8/16/2009

Don't bother contacting this place to get any help. If you don't live right in Williamsport, they won't bother to help you unless they get paid to do it. I called there to get help for my daughter and left six messages with no return phone calls. Then, another friend of mine who lives in their service area did the same thing with nothing ever done to help them. This place is in it for the money and not to actually help anyone. Pros: Nothing positive Cons: Will not help you unless you live right in Williamsport more
