I recommend the riverview! 8/24/2010

The food at the Riverview is great!! This restaurant is the perfect choice if you are in the mood for good food and casual relaxed atmosphere. We enjoy sitting on the screened in porch.The menu is large so there is food for all to enjoy. (RiverView steak sandwich is always good!) more

Great place to dine, but also have delivery/carry out 3/11/2009

I love eating in their screened in porch in nice weather!!! I have always had a good meal, whether dine-in or delivery. It is nice to have a full menu delivery! My family love to eat here when visiting from out of town. more

Great Pizza 11/20/2008

This is a great place to eat with amazing BBQ pizza, or any other kind for that matter. There is a large selection of beers on tap and it offers a great atmosphere to just relax in after work. more

Great Sandwiches 7/29/2008

Riverview is another great local place to dine. They used to be in an old building along the Fox River, but have moved to a much nicer place (still near the river). They have a lot of great choices on their menu and I've never had a bad meal there. Friendly staff and good food. Great place to meet friends for a quick bite and a beer. more

  • Riverview Restaurant & Tavern was first established in 1907 as local hotel for a bustling Victorian era resort Town. In 1936 the hotel closed and the humble beginning of Riverview Restaurant & Tavern began its new role as a gathering place for people to enjoy conversation and music while sharing food and drink. Riverview offers a well rounded menu that features your favorite tavern food as well as Italian cuisine and our very own unique sandwiches. Families and groups are always welcome.

    There will be something to please everyone on our menu:

    ? Serving breakfast on Sunday

    We offer a full service bar to which six television screens and an excellent sound system has been added. In the warmer months, we are excited to provide outdoor deck seating which you can also reserve for private parties.

    Riverview Restaurant & Tavern has been a local landmark since May 1st, 1907 when it first opened as a hotel in the bustling resort town of Algonquin, IL. The hotel closed down and reopened in 1936 as a restaurant, playing a major role in the community as a local landmark as well as being a favorite local gathering place for great food and drink.

    Over the years, our patrons have created the long and interesting history of our establishment and we invite you to continue this tradition!
