This place has a unique set-up and is biker friendly. The beers are cold and I would give it five stars but my friend had to wait 15 minutes after they opened to have a frozen Margarita because their marg machine was just turned on. \r If they would turn that on before opening, I'd give this joint a 5 star rating. The staff was very nice and they have parking just for bikers right out front where we were able to watch our bikes! \r Check out the ring game on the front porch or ask for their washer game. Overall loved the trip down river road and this refreshing place to stop.\r more

A group of my friends came in from Dallas to Wade Bowen at the River Road Icehouse, as we LOVE their outdoor atmosphere! Check out their upstairs VIP section! We booked the cabin/trailer that sleeps 10 and found it to be recently renovated, clean and a perfect way to end the night at River Road. I would definately recommend staying after a concert with a group of friends here! Their photos and information are accurate of their cabins. We will see you again Memorial Weekend!!! Jody =) more

A bunch of us guys came in from Boerne and San Antonio to see Josh Abbott LIVE in concert! This place really rocks!! We couldn't believe how many super cute hotties were there amongst the crowd. The place was packed and the bar staff were great. \r Josh Abbott is an amazing artist and this venue has the perfect setup for the 1500+ people that attended. We sat outside just a few feet from the stage! Talk about up close and personable with JOSH!!! Best of all, after having a few beers and exchanging some numbers, we ended up staying in their cabin for 10 people (which is really a trailer) which was really convienent and although they dont supply linens, the place was clean and kept us from driving back home to Boerne/San Antonio. I would highly recommend this place!!! more

I have attended many concerts at this venue, and have stayed inpractically all of the cabins over the years,\r as well as visited other friends who stayed there. We all had a great time and have never had any problems with the accomodations. The information that I was initally given prior to renting for the first time was in no way misleading. I had also looked at photos on the website,\r and read all the information that described the facilities that I was hoping to rent. The management & staff have always been courteous every year that I have returned,\r and I plan on renting again this year (2011). I would recommend these cabins to anyone considering renting from River Road Icehouse. As far as the entertainment, well I can assure you that no one holds a gun to your head forcing you to pay for admittance to the shows. A minimal amount of common sense is all that is needed to speak up and ask questions if there appears to be some doubt as to the legitimacy of the ""cover charge"" that somehow found it's way from your wallet into the cash register at the door. The same thing goes for the disgruntled cabin renter. You had the option to say ""NO, we don't like the facilities"" but again somehow your credit card found it's way from your purse to the billing system employed at the bar. It appears that the complaints I read were penned by some immature ninny crys that made mistakes and then try to put the blame on the business. River Road Icehouse is a great place to stay, enjoy their summer concerts and all that the Guadalupe river has to offer.\r more

While visiting camp Hauco we decided to go visit one of the local hang outs RIVER ROAD ICE HOUSE. We got there at 11pm and they closed at 12 mid. There was only four of us and the bill was 76.00 dollars plus the extra 5 i added, Total 81.00 Now i'm furious cause they are trying to charge me 91.20(Tyring to rip me off even more). There is nothing special about this place and is way over priced. ICE HOUSE that is all that is and nothing more. Oh They had acouple of guys in there trying to sing but iv'e been to better House [partys than what this place had to offer for the price. CAUTION STAY AWAY!! more

We were looking forward to a fun and exciting weekend on Lake Travis. When we arrived the lake was closed due to the heavy rain that had been in the area. We decided to make the best of a bad situation and head to the river. We called River Road to see if they knew of any cabin rentals that would accommodate 10 adults. Just our luck, they rent cabins. We thought this was a great idea and booked it over the phone. We were told that all we had to bring was pillows and that it was located on the river. We arrived there and was astonished to find what they charged $450 for... it was in the middle of a junk yard! It was a trailor/duplex. It was the most horrible room (if that is what you would call it) you have EVER seen. We would have better conditions staying on the streets. We walked in and thought that any minute Ashton Kutcher would jump out and say that we were ""Punked!"" The ""cabin"" consisted of 4 filthy mattresses on the floor that looked like they were picked up on the side of the road. There were not any linens to even try to cover up the stains, it was unsanitary. There is ABSOLUTELY no way that would pass inspection. If there were children with us, Child Protective Services would have taken them away from us due to the conditions of the ""cabin."" I have been to the river too many times to count and this really put a damper on things for us. It is such a great time with great people, but this place will definitely deter others from ever returning! The sad thing is that we had to fight to get the charges off our card. We were in the ""cabin"" for less than 5 minutes and left. The outside areas were just as bad as the inside, so there was no way we wre staying there! There are too many nice places along the river that justify $450, this place doesn't even Justify $0.45. Pros: NOTHING Cons: EVERYTHING more

I have been to New Braunfels probably 50 times in my life and I have never been treated with such bad service and out and out deception over the phone. I have even filed a complaint on this place! We called and reserved a ""riverfront cabin"" over the phone and were promised it was riverfront, sleeps 10, private bathroom and shower, nestled mountainside with unique decor and to bring our own pillows. The maintenance guy walks us up to our cabin and there nestled between trash, dirty sheets on the ground and an outhouse is an old schoolhouse trailer up on blocks. We are let into the ?riverfront cabin? and to our disgust there are 5 mattresses thrown on the ground with yellow and brown stains on them and a red couch that I wouldn?t let my dog lay on. All this for $450/night!! Keep in mind at this point we have not checked in or agreed to any of the conditions that were so boldly misrepresented to begin with. After some discussion we decide we will leave, find another place to stay and try to forget this place ever exists. We notify the River Road Icehouse employees that we were given fraudulent advertising over the phone and we will not be staying. We enjoy the rest of our weekend and upon my return on Monday I receive a full charge from River Road Icehouse for $450 for a ?riverfront cabin? that was never stayed in and was a complete fraud to begin with. I took numerous pictures of the conditions and wish I would have taped my conversation with the reservations manager. Be forewarned this place is a fraud, the cabins are disgusting and they will lie to you to get you there! Cons: Everything more
