I went to visit this community last Thursday and was shown two apartments. One was pretty nasty looking in my opinion (particularly the kitchen) and the other was a recently upgraded unit. Very nice and I was definitely interested. The office person put it on a 24 hour hold for me so I could talk to my husband. The next day I called to ask a question and after the question was answered, she told me the apartment was promised to someone else but they weren't sure if they would take it and that they would call me later in the day. No one called. I called back at the end of the day to be told it was taken but they would upgrade the other apartment for me (but it would increase my rent dramatically). She said I could get back to her the following day with my decision. I stewed over this for awhile... unhappy with being promised an apartment that was promised to someone else and then having to pay extra for upgrades that were needed on the place to begin with? Made me unhappy. So I decided to go up there this morning as planned to talk about it. I get there and no one is there. Doors locked up... nothing. I feel like I'm being led on some kind of wild goose chase or something. I get the impression that there is a high level of incompetence in the office and that I can't put any faith in anything they say. If this is the kind of treatment I could expect if I actually moved in, then I am glad I am going elsewhere. This is ridiculous.
