As a neighbor, I hoped Todd English's new restaurant would be a success, I went on Thanksgiving evening to a prix fix dinner at $58.00 which included 4 courses served family style and a glass of wine which was a very good value. It included a delicious white bean and panchetta soup, very good pumpkin ravioli, moist and tender turkey breast on a bed of creamy risotto. All portions were very good size. A souffle featuring spiced gelato which was added tableside was also very good\r
The food was excellent although some dishes came out warm instead of hot. I also thought the time between courses was too long,\r
The host sat us in a back booth with no view eventhough there was hardly anyone in the restaurant. I asked to change and he obliged. I noticed that someone had spilled food on the wall and it had not been cleaned. I had to ask for new china because ours was streaky. The music was loud 80""s rock which I thought was totally inappropriate. I mentioned it to the manager who told me it was Todd's choice but then did change it to more appropriate lounge music. The wait staff seemed very well trained and our server was very intuitive. When she realized we had eaten all of the pumpkin ravioli, she offered more and when she realized that we liked grated cheese and pepper, brought it over for each course. I overhead the server at the next table who also seemed very knowledgabe about the menu and not afraid to make suggestions. \r
I think the restaurant can be a sucess if it works out the kinks and places an eye on attention to detail.
Pros: Good food.
Cons: Attention to detail.
