Delicious Salsa, Free Water with Lids 3/15/2010

So far, at this Poquito Mas I've spotted the middle Hanson brother, Josh Lucas, and Josh Lucas's dog. Foodwise, I've had the enchiladas, been and cheese burrito, cobb salad, and chile pasilla plate. I would say that the food was less exciting than Josh Lucas (I really enjoyed ""Sweet Home Alabama""), but more exciting than the brother Hanson (my Backstreet Boys loyalties run deep). I was ambivalent about Josh Lucas's dog, as s/he isn't famous. The chips are particularly exciting to me, as they serve as a vessel to drink salsa with. I usually get the textured black one and the bright red one with seeds. I don't know what they're called, but I'm they're both made with a mixture of chili peppers, tomatoes and magic. This location sells Snapple Lemon Tea, which is nice because I really appreciate a good Snapple fact with my Mexican food. Here's a fact for you: on rainy days Poquito Mas gives away free soup. I would say that the soup isn't great enough for you to make a trip just to get it for free, but if you were planning on eating there anyway it's a pretty nice treat. You can always get free water though. It comes in a clear cup with a lid and everything. Places tend to skimp on lids with their free waters, and then you have to deal with floaty dust and debris in your water. Not here though. more

Cheap eats, quick service 11/23/2007

Poquito Mas is one of my favorite stand-by eat-out places. The food is good and there's a decent variety to keep it interesting. The staff carry the food out to the tables for added convenience. My favorites are the chicken burrito and the quesadillas. more

Love it! 6/29/2007

I am always on the hunt for the best burrito in LA and am happy to have discovered Poquito Mas-- I highly recommend their Vegy Burrito. This is a great spot if you need to grab a quick, cheap bite to eat. Pros: Burritos! more

Fresh Mexican Cuisine on Sunset 4/18/2007

Fast and fresh, the food here tastes as authentic as what you can get from taco trucks or stands but with the safer hygiene standards of an established restaurant. The meat options are delicious, especially the marinated steak, and tortillas are handmade on-location. I was a little disappointed, however, that the tacos were essentially just meat in a tortilla without any cheese, guac, sour cream or vegetables. There is a large salsa bar and it's likely you can order items on the side to top your tacos. I'll go back to try their burritos and carnitas. Pros: Fast Service, Fresh meat Cons: Parking, Topping Options more

Best Carnitas in town! 2/13/2007

I go here almost once a week. I definitely recommend that you try their Carnitas Platter. Make sure to ask for extra chips though because sometimes they can get frugal. Parking is a bit of a pain but well worth the Carnitas.\r \r Pros: Food Cons: Parking more

Good food fast at a good price. 12/21/2006

I think this is among the best ""fast"" food in the L.A. area. All of their dishes taste great and are apparently much healthier than your average fast food garbage. Their sals bar is also packed with great tasting salsa choices. They also appear to be cleaner than the average fast food dump. The proces are decent as well. Give them a try! Pros: Tasty and Healthy more

Highly recommended 12/17/2006

I am a consistent regular in this establisment due to the cleanliness, qualtiy of product, and good service from the employees. This is a quality franchise. The food is consistent every time you go in, and the food tastes great. I would recommend this place to anybody who is craving mexican food. more

Best Mexican, Amazing Prices, Just so darn good 11/24/2006

I now live in NY and the one thing I really miss about home (besides the weather) is Poquito Mas. The food is fresh and authentic and so flavorful. Grab a friend, sit outside in the sun and enjoy. You can fill up on great food and still have enough to throw a few back on the strip later. Truly the best little Mexican joint in Los Angeles. Just don't expect any frills--outside of your mouth, that is. Wow. That sounded saucy, didn't it? Pros: Burritos and Tacos are amazing, prices are great Cons: None, really more

Perfect 10 Carne Asada Burritos, Cool little JOint on Sunset 11/17/2006

The grilled marinated burritos are too good to be explained. Must check it out in person to know what I'm talking about. I wish I knew the formula. The juiciest steak pieces. Pros: Best marinated burrito Cons: Parking's horrible more

Best Mexican food bar none! 11/2/2006

Forget all those chain mexican restaurants - go to the best mexican food in LA - Poquito Mas on Sunset!!\r Handmade tortillas that melt in your mouth - burritos are awesome!! The fish tacos are killer!\r Wish they had a beer and wine license as that would make it nirvana!!!!\r \r \r Pros: authentic mexican food, cheap, fresh Cons: it has limited seating inside, cold for patio in the winter more

Delicioso! 8/23/2006

I love this place. Everything's fresh and tasty. You can't go wrong with the steak dinner plate or the tacos. Pros: cheap fresh tasty more

Magically delicious 8/16/2006

This place rocks. The food is fresh and tasty. They even make the tortillas on the premises. They occasionally have long lines but that's only because the place is so good. If you're in a hurry, call ahead for pick-up. Pros: fresh food, no freezers, tortillas made on premises Cons: occasional long lines more

Tasty Burrito at an Affordable Price 8/16/2006

I went to Poquito Mas the other day with some co-workers. I got a bean and cheese burrito that was true to it's name. Beans and cheese and that's it. I love it. I'm a pretty picky eater, but that was a great burrito. We ate out on the patio area and it was really nice. They have it covered so you don't get scorched by the sun. Pretty sweet. more
