Great little dive bar that has a teriffic view. Right next to the ocean it also has a very good menu. Pool is always a great time there and the atmoshere is cool. more

One step into this bar, and you?ll know why it got its name; it?s absolutely disgusting. Because of its iconic reputation, my girlfriends and I went to check out this place one afternoon and immediately upon entering were made to feel extremely uncomfortable, not to mention out of place. We were very obviously ogled by what seemed to be some questionable regulars perched at the bar, then the bartender was rude (because we didn?t have cash), and the bathroom was unbearable. I?ve been to enough dive bars to know that this place is nothing more than a dump. Pros: right on beach Cons: a dump, bad service, cash only more

Good place to be with friends 4/17/2008

I used to be regular in 1983,then i had a chance to enjoy it again after 20 years .\r Still a nice place to play pool and have a few drinks.\r Ruan the bartender is a nice guy.\r I'll go there anytime i'm in Hermosa. more

The Name says it All 11/4/2007

This has to be the ultimate beach dive bar. They have some of the best real estate in HB and any summer weekend or holiday the place is packed. It has an outdoor patio where you can typically find smokers or drunk groups playing a game of boat races. Nothing glamorous about this spot, but there is definitely some fun to be had there on occasion. more

The P**p Deck used to have $.25 pitchers at 8:00 every Thursday. Needless to say I lost my shoes one Thursday in 1984. Let me know if you've seen my shoes. more

Not only did the bouncer use a very deragatory slur toward my group, the bartender was too busy opening his social security checks to serve our designated sober driver a cup of COFFEE. with all the other bars inches away, you'd think the crew here would be tad nicer to people who want to keep them employed. no wonder it's called the poop deck. they treat customers like....poop. Pros: beach Cons: staff, drink choices, everything else more

Budweiser Heaven 10/4/2004

If you drink Bud, this place is for you. The place is small but very charming in a biker/surfer kinda way. Its a very ""locals"" oriented bar and they have good happy hours and Bud specials. I like this place for easy going, unpretentious, don't give a ""gosh darn"" good times. Pros: Cheap Bud, Happy Hour more

If the long lines and attitudes on the HB pier are beginning to annoy you, check out the Poop Deck for an antidote. It's a hidden dive where locals order cheap pitchers of Bud two at a time. more

Fun in the sun! 8/28/2002

It's not too crowded and you can watch sports there. There's a back area where you can get sun. Best kept secret on the pier! Pros: inexpensive, not crowded Cons: no liquor more

This is a old school bar and I quite like it. The beer is cheap and that is all you will get. And by the way Budweiser is all they serve. So if youre a pretentious hussy from the Hollywood Hills or Bel Air, move on. Pros: Value, Cheap, Cheap Cons: Bathroom more

Although the ""touristas"" think these guys are the beer nazis, it is only because they are TOURISTS! The guys who run the Poop Deck are probably more genuine than any other beach bar in SoCal.They maintain the original Hermosa with authority and those that do not like it can go back to Michigan, New York, Chicago wherever JUST GO BACK!!!!! more

Old, but fun. 5/23/2002

Definitely an old bar, but it's a cool bar to just kick back and drink some beers. Budweiser is the only beer on tap. If you're a sports fan who likes teams from the New England area, then this is the bar for you. The people there are cool and really laid back. more
