This is The Best Mexican food restraunt in town. Very friendly staff. If it is not on the menu, it is no problem. They will prepare the meal how you prefer. Although we do not live in the area. We are more than willing to drive. It is well worth the trip. The food is great!!. more

I give this restaurant 2 stars because of past visits. We have been regular visitors to both locations for the last 15 years. With few exceptions, the food and service has been wonderful wonderful. However, something has changed over the last few months. In the last 4 visits (2 visits each at both restaurants) the food and customer service has become average at best. We went to the restaurant for the last time tonight, it was a busy night so we were given a new waitress. She didn't seem to know what she was doing and was nowhere to be found for most of our dining experience. Our food was cold and the ingredients didn't seem nearly as friend as before as before. The final straw was we waited 15 minutes to be paid, our waitress was nowhere to be found. We had to go up to the front to pay. I doubt my family will be visiting again. After receiving the mailing coupon, I read several reviews online about this restaurant. Being favorable reviews, and close to our home, we decided to give it a try. Why not? People have called this Fresno's best Mexican food. To begin, the server was not very personable. The chips were mostly broken pieces and very salty. The food arrived promptly and was served very hot...excellent! The quality of the food was ordinary to disappointing at best. The chicken enchilada my wife had was dry and bland. The chile relleno was soggy. The seafood in my burrito was very pungent with brine, giving the impression it had been sitting around for quite some time and improperly cared for. I must add at this point in the review I have almost twenty years experience in food service from the kitchen side and have worked with some top rated chefs. The rice served with my daughter's and wife's meals was soggy and unimpressive. All in all, a very disappointing meal ..... especially for the price! We have had a much better Mexican meal at the corner of Shaw and West! We will not be back! Pros: delightful greeter Cons: food quality and taste more

Plaza Ventana is a very good mexican food place. The staff is friendly and prompt and their menu is very large! When you get your chips and salsa, you don't just get one type of salsa, you get three and they range in heat levels. They have a full bar and you can pick if you want to sit on the bar side or the regular dining side. Very nice. more

Can't go wrong here - great food for dinner on any night or fun time with karaoke and friends on Fridays and Saturdays. The staff are great fun and definitely like their regulars! Fun place to unwind. more

When you walk in the door, you feel as if you have been invited into a family home. The crew here is nothing short of excellent. They go to extremes to make you feel at home. Their food is outstanding! I have never had a dish I haven't liked! It's amazing watching the chef work. I don't know how he keeps up with it all. We have given many gift cards because we want all of our friends to enjoy this great place! more

Well, as a huge fan of Mexican food, I like to think that I enjoy a variety of different styles of Mexican food, but I was very disappointed in Plaza Ventana. It's not the greatest food but it's good, and cheap. The margaritas are strong and at night they have karaoke in the back bar. It's hilarious. I recommend it for a night time snack and cocktail. Pros: Karaoke, drink specials Cons: Mediocre food more

I love the food at this particular Plaza Ventana. If you like carne asada and you like shrimp, you have to try the Surf and Turf Wrap with black beans. SO GOOD! For some reason, the Plaza Ventana on Blackstone does not hold a candle to this Plaza Ventana on west Shaw. I have been to both several times and prefer the food/service of the west Shaw location hands down. I know you will enjoy! Pros: Great food, Good service, Go away full Cons: Atmosphere is so-so more
