Went here Feb 20th to try the ?Pittsburg pile-up? A knock off of the original Primanti sandwich..We walked into a very small place, four booths, two high tops a small bar. Even though there were about 12 people there it was so quiet you could hear a pin drop, no music, no tv,, weird.
We ordered our drinks with the utterly charming Christine & then got some wings. They have a great selection of flavors for the wings & we were totally shocked when the jamaican ones were actually jamaican seasoned I mean cinnamon, cloves, rosemary, really good. It went downhill fast.
A group of 30 came in with only Christine to serve them. It got crazy but she stayed on top of it & made sure our group wasn?t ignored That?s when we got to experience the putz of an owner. Apparently he was there the entire time but could only come out of hiding when all hell broke loose on his poor server. To add insult to injury the only ?help? he offered was to critique EVERYTHING she did. ?Don?t over pour, Don?t under pour!! Did you card everyone outside!!!? Over & over, this man berated her for every little thing wrong including a customer sending her fries back because they tasted horrid.We witnessed this for a while & assured Christine (who was on the verge of tears by now) that she was doing fine and the owner was a jack@%#!!
We ordered the pile up sandwiches, meat, cheese, fries & slaw all on soft sourdough bread. What a joke!!! It was more like a French fry sandwich . The slaw was seasoned so badly it smelled like formaldehyde. We scraped it and the horrid fries (that previous customer was right) & ended up with a meat & cheese sandwich on break 2? thick. There was so little meat it might have measured a ?? thick on a good day!!!
With all this said, bottom line, we?d NEVER go back here. Not if the a#@ of an owner paid us & believe me when I tell you it?s a waste of your time and money as well. Primanti?s would die if they knew these louses even compared their food to theirs!
Pros: Good drink prices
Cons: the food and the owner are both horrid!
