I have been waxed all over the world, but nothing compares to the wax I had at Trilogy with Rachel. If you are looking for a fast, virtually painless wax, look no further. She was friendly, fast and efficient. I will highly recomend her and Trilogy to everyone I know. Pros: Fantastic Waxing Skills more

Not impressed! 11/12/2007

Tried both locations and still am unimpressed with the massages. Nothing special other than the tropical themed ambiance which is quite nice and relaxing, but for $105 for a basic swedish massage, not worth the money! Pros: Nice ambiance Cons: Massages mediocre! more

Who Said Relaxing 7/29/2007

I don't see how anybody can relax in this place. As soon as I walked in, all I received was dirty looks from the front desk staff. They were on the phone and didn't even smile or hold a finger up or anything, just dirty looks from "superior" desk jockeys. They finally get me situated, and even though they claim to have a steam room/sauna in the men's spa, I find that it is only a steam shower. Not that great, but I take one. I make my way to the waiting area where my therapist greets me, eyes down at the floor and with a limp handshake, then takes me to the room and asks me questions like she's reading them off a telepromter. I lay down on the table, she comes in, slams the door, talks too much, and rushes through the massage. I dropped over $100 to relax at this so called "upscale" spa, but I left way more tense and frustrated than I was before I came in. It seems as if the only thing they care about is taking your money and getting you out the door so they can rip the next person off. Upscale, don't think so...upsell...you bet! more

Sooooooo Relaxing! 4/27/2007

My boyfriend and I were visiting family in Manhattan Beach and they recommended the new Trilogy Spa. It was a beautiful day and we arrived early as recommended to spend time together on the outside patio. We loved laying on the covered daybed. We had the couple?s massage together in the same room. The therapists were nice and we were both relaxed. The only negative was that my boyfriend was disappointed that the men?s locker room only had a steam waterfall shower and not a tub like the women?s. We will definitely go back the next time we?re in town. more

Great Massage 4/24/2007

I live in the South Bay and just visited Trilogy Spa for my first time. I had the Trilogy deluxe massage (an 1 ? service but only 1 hour and 20 minutes of massage) and it was great. The pain in my shoulder was gone by the time I left because of all the stretching my masseuse performed. The men?s locker room was clean and the large shower had good pressure. I will definitely go back the next time I am in pain. Pros: Facilities and Massage Cons: Appointment time more

My girlfriends and I just finished my birthday party at the new Trilogy in Manhattan Beach and we are all now converted devotees! The personalized service made our party a huge success. The beautiful lunch setup on the relaxing deck with private daybeds couldn't be beat. We could have stayed forever. The services were professional with a caring touch, and the entire staff was courteous and friendly. The facility was a bit noisy at times, but only because customers were having such a good time together (our group of eight included). A few of us have been long time customers at Trilogy Hermosa and we were pleasantly surprised with our great experience at the new Manhattan location. I would advise arriving early to take advantage of the expanded water amenties and relaxing outdoor deck if you have time. Pros: Friendly, Great for Parties, Large Outdoor Sundeck, Clean Cons: Can be noisy, Parking meters, Stairs more

Worst Spa Experience 3/31/2007

djd70 Provided by Partner
I recently visited Trilogy in Manhattan Beach and it was the worst experience I've ever had at a spa. The manager is stuck up and condescending. I, too, like the peson below, asked a few questions about my therapist's training and was told by her in a snotty way not to worry about it. She talked to me like I was five years old. I mean really, if I'm spending all this money to come to your spa, you should at least indulge me and answer my questions. So that was my front desk experience. The massage was equally horrible. The therapist talked about herself and her relationship problems for the entire 80 minutes, like I really care about that! She was so self involved that she didn't even remember to work out the few things I had asked her to. I have heard good things about Trilogy, but after this experience, it's hard to imagine why anyone in their right mind would go there, or continue to go there. I will never go back and to all those first timer's out there....SAVE YOUR MONEY!! more

I bought a gift certificate from Trilogy spa for my wife's birthday. She had just finished a major project at work and really needed some pampering. All I can say is evidently Karina is a magician, as my wife came home a completely transformed woman. She loved it!!! more

Best facial 3/8/2007

I've had many facial all over LA and the facial I received at Trilogy spa was by far the best. My facialist Karina, was very knowledgeable and informative through out the process while making me feel very relaxed. She made some great suggestions on caring for my skin and took the time to explain, which most facialist fail to do. The atmosphere is very soothing. From the moment I walked in to the time I left, I felt well taken care of which is a sign of a great place. I highly recommend their facials. I would go back to try other services. more

not worth it 3/1/2007

Trilogy has a good location and the amenities are nice but the attitude I recieved while trying to relax is not acceptable. I went for a massage but could not even relax because of the snottyness I recieved from the staff. I had simply asked a few questions that I thought were valid about my therapists training, and I was simply told "not to worry about their training and that I was going to have the best massage of my life"... well obviosly I didn't. I hope that in the future they will pay more attention to their clients and not they're egos. Pros: Steam Cons: Service more

best waxing experience ever 8/4/2006

princessmononoke Provided by Partner
I've lived in New York and Los Angeles, and I've been waxed at a lot of different places. In NYC, I'd gone to J Sisters, Completely Bare, and Bliss. In L.A., I've been to Queen Bee / Jodi Shays, Pink Cheeks, Damone Roberts, and Blue Medical Spa. At Blue, I even made it through the pain of two laser hair removal sessions before I decided that, although waxing is much more expensive if you calculate the total cost we'll spend over the years, it hurts a heck of a lot less. I mean seriously. Exactly how much pain are we willing to tolerate down there, ladies? Enter Trilogy. Least painful wax ever. My appointment was with Bella, and the combination of high-quality hard wax and awesome technique ("it's all in the wrist") ended up meaning that I experienced virtually no pain. Trilogy gets my vote. The staff was warm and inviting, the products smelled divine, the environment was clean, the ocean was steps away. Perfect. Pros: pain-free waxing. wonderful amenities, products, and staff. Cons: you can get waxed elsewhere for WAY cheaper. more

Excellent Deep Tissue Massage 7/9/2006

I went to the Trilogy in Manhattan Beach and was very pleased with the massage I received from Ebony. I had a Deluxe deep tissue and it was worth every penny. The facility has a sauna, a waterfall shower complete with an assortment of body scrubs (all free with spa services) and a nice sun deck to relax on, so plan on being there longer than the scheduled service time. Pros: Ebony's Deep Tissue Massages Cons: Lockers are a bit difficult to figure out more

EVERYONE made me feel right at home and relaxed! Everything you could ask for! GO GO GO!!!!! Pros: Uh..it's like Heaven! Cons: I can't live there! more

I went in for a massage 2 days ago. Normally have my regular girl, but she was out of town, and really needed one. Checked out the new Trilogy in Manhattan Beach. It was a beautiful facility. The staff was very attentive and friendly as I walked in, and gave me a tour. I requested a strong hand, and a woman. The massage was one of the best I recall having and talked me through and ansered some of the questions I had pertaining to my injury. I am definately coming back, and have made an appointment for my wife as well. Pros: skilled, friendly, clean more

Over-rated and Over-priced 3/7/2006

I have been to Trilogy twice as a guest (for a bachelorette party and then a birthday party). While the atmosphere was fancier than other spas I've tried, I'm surprised at the high rating and favorable reviews that this place gets. Not only is Trilogy expensive (and getting even more so), they do not honor discounts. When I went for the bachelorette party, we were promised a discount, but they only gave the discount to individuals in the party who reminded them specifically at the time that the bill was printed out. The facial that day was nice, though. The second time I went, I had a massage. I felt that the staff was rude and ruined the experience. My friends and I all felt rushed and didn't appreciate the unfriendliness. We will probably never go back again. Pros: Clean, Complimentary scrubs Cons: Rude staff, Price, Parking more

A little Expensive but nice 11/1/2005

I used to live in the South Bay and found this spa by accident. But I really like it there, its not pretentious at all. They have a pretty wide selection on there menu which I like. The staff is very friendly. I love the free scrubs they give you to try out, they smell delish. Yes it is a little pricey for a boutique place, but I continue to come back even tho I have moved to the Westside. Pros: Feels Quaint, Great Treatments Cons: Expensive, Parking more

Not a great experience! 7/12/2005

My husband gave me a Signature Spa Treatment (Ginger Body Butter) gift certificate. 1st it says in the brochure "full body massage". My neck, feet and half my back were never "massaged". 2nd, when I went to check out they said my husband hadn't paid the full amount and I owed an additional $10. Not a huge deal, but definately not what I expected. The ammenities were really lacking for a day spa and the staff didn't seem to care if I was satisfied or not. I will not be returning to Trilogy, but I hope you have a better experience! more

I went to Trilogy for the first time this year, I didn't even know about it before but went with a gift certificate. I have been to many day spas before, and I really enjoyed Trilogy...I felt like I was on vacation in my own back yard. Maybe the poorer reviews are from people who don't know better. I will definitely be going back! Their prices are slightly more expensive than other places, but worth it. Pros: Cleanliness, Signature Treatments, Service/Friendliness more

Relaxing Tropical Day Spa 5/12/2003

I'm from the Bay Area; and was visiting a friend for her birthday. I decided to treat her & myself to a spa treatment. I must say the signature spa treatments ($130 each) are divine. I had the lavender tea-tree infusion sweep which included a body scrub, soak in a spacious tub, and light body & head massage--It was heaven. The private room was adorned with orchids and candles which added to the pleasant relaxing experience. My friend had a treatment with the floatation bed, which she said " was very relaxing." Service was pleasant and helpful. Amenities(salt scrub bar, refreshments, rain shower, etc) were better than most day spas I've been to. Highly recommend this day spa. =) Pros: Signature Treatments, Atmosphere, Service Cons: Parking more
