Best

I'm from Chicago, land of foodies but we didn't have an Angelo's. The building is very unassuming but it's what's inside that counts, the freshest ingredients and great recipes. ...

Worst

I've been a faithful customer of Angelo's for the last 10 years. I'm sad to say that tonight's visit was my last. Ever since Angelo retired the food is not the same. There is a...

A little of brooklyn in Nashville! 4/27/2005

I was so happy to find a place that really had NYC style pizza and Italian food! This place is 8 minutes from my home and I get there as often as possible. Picnic Pizza has real Italians making great pizzas with great toppings, fabulous hot heroes, great entrees and fantastic fat calzones (I love the spinach!). There is no way a franchise pizza place can top this! more

Best Pizza in Nashville 1/28/2005

Excellent! Great tasting pizza full of flavor. Desserts are just as good! more

Best pizza. Best by far. 7/9/2004

Yes, it's a hole-in-the-wall. No, it's not fancy. But go for the food and you'll be pleasantly surprised. The people, Italian by-way-of Brooklyn, are charming and friendly, the atmosphere inviting. Their homemade sauce is so dang good, I could drink the stuff for breakfast. All the pizzas I've had - the house special, the veggie, the chicken pesto . . . all are divine, I mean INCREDIBLY good. The calzones are equally delicious. The only thing that I didn't absolutely love was the too-vinegary Italian dressing on the salad. But with pizza this good, I'll wear the lettuce on my head. Thank you thank you thank you Angelo, Sarah, and family for making my mouth so happy! Pros: delicious food, friendly service,, ambience, prices more

Picnic's the Best 6/23/2004

My family and I are from NY and this is the closest pizza to New York's pizza we have ever tasted in TN. We were very impressed and we love going there because they are a very busy place but they still know you by your first name. We go there atleast once a week and they know exactly what we want. Thanks for letting us speak out Thank you Picnic for being the best in Tennessee Pros: Great Food, inexpensive, great people more

Best Pizza/Great Prices! 5/19/2004

Real Pizza in Nashville! It's a rarity, but this place has is right! If you hit the lunch buffet or come in the evening, you will not be disappointed. No new-age pinapple tofu pizza here, just real New York pizza with great crust, plenty of garlic and cheese along with generous toppings. Also, they have a menu of Italian specialties that rival most Italian restaurants in town and are much more reasonable!\r \r Forget Pizza Hut and Papa John's if you want real pizza come to Picnic!\r \r I also really enjoy the buffet on Sunday evenings! It is a nice time to take the family! Pros: Food, Portions, Price more

Great Pizza 6/5/2003

My husband and I went to Picnic Pizza on June 4th, 2003. It was absolutely wonderful. The pizza was wonderful and the service was even better. We will definitely be back!!! Pros: Inexpensive, Great Food, Great Service more

It's Like NYC 5/25/2003

Picnic Pizza is a taste of NYC. When you go to Picnic, you have that feeling of being in a pizzaria in Manhattan or Brooklyn or even Jersey. The service is awesome, the attitudes are friendly. Simply the best that Nashville has to offer. more

Best-kept secret in Nashville! 5/23/2003

Fantastic food (we've tried everything from the AWESOME pizza to the subs to the pasta, and have never been dissapointed) and wonderful staff (hello Sara, Angelo, Linda and everyone else!) make this a great place to eat! My husband and i have been customers for years, and we always recommend it to friends. They've all raved about it as well! Try the lunch buffet - great value, and the food is awesome and plentiful. The calamari is a dream come true! We never even order pizzza from those chains anymore - only Picnic Pizza's pies will do! DO YOURSELF A FAVOR... TRY THIS NEAT LITTLE ITALIAN ""JOINT"" SOON! I just saw that they got a very high rating from the health department on the TV - so what are you waiting for?!? more

Best Pizza Hands Down 4/26/2003

Everytime I walk in the front door Angelo greets me by name. Pretty impressive considering my schedule only permits me to eat there a couple times a month. I also watch as he greets many other people by name when they walk in. Everyone working there is nice and they really do have the best pizza I have ever had. I am not from New York but I do have friends who are and they have told me that it is the real deal. I think they hated to admit it though. Mondays they have an extra large one topping for under $8.95... Pros: Family Atmosphere, Good Prices, Great Food more

It's LIKE FAMILY with GREAT PIZZA 4/17/2003

This place offers a variety of excellent AUTHENTIC Italian food! The people wait on you and talk to you like you were at Aunt Rosa's house! And the owners are right there onsight taking your orders and everything. When i was in there they even took the time to show a child how to make a pizza and let her make her own and keep it! Now how is that for good family fun. Places like this are few and far between these days. Their food and their attitudes are so great that they don't have to mask it with hotsy totsy linens and fancy china, the place truly sells itself! Cold Beer Warm Pizza and Great people! Pros: Friendly Service, REAL INGREDIENTS, Clean more

The BEST pizza in the world!!!! 4/6/2003

I could eat at Picnic Pizza everyday. The pizza is amazing (not to mention everything else I've tried on the menu!) The people are great, it's like having dinner with your family. more

Good vs. Bad 2/21/2003

The food in this very little, very moist restaurant was very good but it is best if you order your food to go. Even in the middle of winter this restaurant was so humid I could hardly stand being in there for more than a few minutes. The Pasta sauce was wonderful, the buffet was great. I really liked this restaurant's food but won't dine in again. more

PICNIC PIZZA FAN 2/13/2003

PICNIC PIZZA IS ONE OF THE MOST ENJOYABLE EATING EXPERIENCES THAT I HAVE. THE PEOPLE THERE ARE GREAT, THEY TREAT YOU LIKE FAMILY. THE FOOD IS OUT OF THIS WORLD. AND THE PRICING IS MY KIND OF PRICING. Pros: INEXPENSIVE, GREAT TASTING, CLEAN more

Best Calamari in Town 2/10/2003

Although Picnic Pizza is geared mostly toward pizza lovers, I found the (lunchtime) buffet line to be adequately stocked with selections for the normal Italian food patron. The variety, texture and taste of the pizza's rank among the best I've eaten outside of Naples, Italy, the mussels in tomato sauce was very tasty and the calamari is the best in town. Pros: Inexpensive, Very Clean, Ample Parking Cons: Background Music, Paper Plates, Italian Atmosphere more

The Best Ever! 2/5/2003

All i can say is thats its the best pizza i have ever eaten in my life. No joke. I live in KY and visit friends in Nashville often. The first place i want to go is Picnic Pizza to eat. Everyone there is very friendly and the food is fantastic. Don't believe me? Try it, you will NOT be disappointed. Pros: Great Food, Great People, Great Service more

Pizza from heaven 2/4/2003

And on the 8th day, the Lord created Picnic Pizza! Sarah, Angelo and Sammy are the nicest people you could ever meet. The pizza is out of this world! I love the Monday & Tuesday special, I just wish they delivered to Mt Juliet. The lunch buffet has an awesome selection. When I have friends in town I introduce them to the best pizza in Nashville! Pros: Great People, Good Value more

The buffett is awesome! I hit the place once a week. Best pizza, best wings... WHAT ARE THEY NOT BEST AT??? If only they served free refills on beer. =) Pros: PIZZA, BUFFET, WINGS Cons: No Buffet On Sunday more

It's Amore!!! 12/6/2002

Great buffet at lunch and you won't find a better pizza on this side of town!!!! Do yourself a favor and get a pan of the lasagna. Plenty of room to sit down and eat while you're served by a gracious staff. If you're looking for good, fresh pizza, hand tossed and cooked in front of you, this is the place. more
