I have been a patron for years. Recommended this place to friends and family for years, also. Used to go when it was open 24 hours--often in the middle of the night for a decent chicken fried steak or burger.
Many of the wait-staff have been there for years. I love most of them. However, there have been some additions in recent years that leave good service to be desired. About a month ago, I overheard my waitress telling other customers that I was holding up her table. Now, I could understand the problem if the place was jumping--but, it wasn't. And, I was finishing my coffee, damnit! Not to mention, I had tipped thirty percent. The table was wobbly, I had to hold it with my feet to keep my food from sliding into my lap. Not to mention, the prices have gone up while the quality of the food has gone down significantly. I ordered wings about two months ago--and they were absolutely inedible. The wing sauce (Teriyaki) had not been reduced and was piled on the wings so as to make my plate look like a remnant of the Exxon Valdez oil-spill. Absolutely nasty. And when I told the waitress that I did not want the wings, I got attitude for it... (same waitress I mentioned above, btw). My questions... why serve me something that looks so inedible, and then why ignore me for several minutes as I try to get your attention?
The repeated rudeness of that waitress was the last straw. I am never going back there again.
