Worst

I have to agree with the ""Smokey and 409 smell"" comment. The service was excellent and the staff is extremely kind. I felt like I was telling my Grandma I didn't like her coco...

Mixed Bag 3/4/2009

I do like the food. I like their pizza with pepperonis that are crisped until they start to curl and really brown on the edges. I like the flavor of the sauce, the warm garlic breadsticks and the homemade creamy Italian salad dressing. I never order anything different.\r \r But their prices are high, they do charge extra for everything - even extra sauce on the pizza. I believe the person who said it was ten cents per extra olive on the salad. With their prices, they should be able to afford to throw in a few extras. Service can be good, but at times it has been horrible. When my daughter was six, she came to the conclusion that they call them waiters because they're always making you wait and wait and wait. Out of the mouth of babes.....\r \r They have Banquet rooms downstairs which I think really helps them maintain their business. It's a very large restaurant that can accommodate numerous large groups at once and I've never had to wait. My son is on a swim team at a local school and both the boys and girls teams host their annual banquets here. Banquet pricing is pretty good, but can you believe that they won't donate any food for these teams annual fundraiser? We have a 24 hour swimathon once a year and many, many local restaurants donate food to help feed the swimmers, but not the one place that hosts the annual banquets. If I can have any influence in the upcoming years, I'll push to have the banquets moved to Farina's in Berkley where they have consistently donated food to the swimathon even though the banquets aren't held there. Pros: Restaurant and parking lot size, taste Cons: Pricing, charging extra for everything, not donating to the community more

Pizza too greasy, Rest of the food average at best 4/18/2008

The pizza is too greasy and the rest of their food is average at best. I ordered a simple pepperoni pizza for take out a few months ago and grease had soaked through almost the entire box. I had to blot it with napkins so it wouldn't run down my fingers as I ate it. Truly disgusting! I actually went into the restaurant for dinner another night and the rest of their food isn't anything special. You can get better Italian food for your money at numerous other nearby restaurants. The decor inside is pretty ugly and is no better looking than a Coney Island. This place is always busy for some reason though. Locals must not know what good Italian food tastes like. Pros: Parking Lot is huge Cons: Food is average at best, Decor is comparable to a Coney Island more

best pizza and pasta 8/3/2007

I don't think that fine_diner is. The food and service here is outstanding. The pasta is fresh as well as the sauce. Fine_diner must be used to Spaghetti O's Pros: excellent food Cons: can get crowded more

Way Overrated 1/11/2007

For the life of me, I cannot figure out why this completely average restaurant is totally packed every night of the week! I've tried lots of the entrees - the food is average. The prices are average, if not a little above. The service is average. The decor and atmosphere are average. What is the draw, people? In an area of suburban Detroit that is teeming with excellent, family-run Italian restaurants, I simply cannot fathom why this one is always the busiest. Truly puzzling. more

Less than average but good for kids 8/22/2006

I have to agree with the ""Smokey and 409 smell"" comment. The service was excellent and the staff is extremely kind. I felt like I was telling my Grandma I didn't like her coconut cream pie, so instead I just asked her to box it up and tossed it when I got home (too much raw coconut in it..my jaw hurt after a few bites. As for the dinner....well, not too good. I suggest ordering simple pizza or spaghetti. The chicken fettachini & veggies was not good. Great place for little kids...just order simple stuff. Pros: Good to take little kids, Good Service, Friendly Cons: Food is below average more

Don't ask for extras 7/21/2005

Don't ask for an extra side of spaghetti sauce or black olives for your salad because the restaurant will charge you. Even if you buy a bottle of wine, order an appetizer and an entree- if you want an extra side of salad dressing it will cost you. My wife asked for some extra black olives for her salad and our server indicated that it would cost us 0.10 cents per olive.......We are NOT kidding.... Pros: pizza is good, service is ok, nice view of Woodward Cons: nickle and dime, slightly pricey more

pasquales rules!! 2/25/2005

the food is awesome. huge portions, you'll need a doggy bag. best deepdish pizza. fet alfredo is awesome and the noodles practically melt in your mouth. the service isn't all that great but everybody is friendly. if possible, try them during the week. i live closeby and drive past on a daily basis and their huge parking lot is always jammed full friday, saturday, sunday. check them out. you will definitely NOT be disappointed. i bet my money on it!!!! Pros: food, location, inexpensive Cons: crowded, wait staff more

let me park where i want my friend 9/12/2002

i dont like being told to park ten blocks down the street. get rid of those parking lot directors ill park where i want , im paying to eat here they arent paying me to eat here. Pros: reasonable prices, not long wait Cons: parking, parking, smokey more

Pass on Pasquale's 9/5/2002

To put it simply, this place is awful. Italian? If you could call lumpy frozen pasta and a generic red sauce from a can Italian. The first thing you'll notice is how Pasquale's stinks of 409 cleaner and overused frying oil. I had a salad and their gnocchi -- one of the worst dining experiences of my life. This is one notch higher than cafeteria food; I give it that one notch since someone's actually serving me the food. Spare yourself the experience. Not worth a penny! more

Best Food In America! 7/11/2002

The food at Pasquale's was great! It is by far my favorite restuarant in Michigan. It has awesome Italian food, and the best pizza! I would know i am a pure Italian! Pros: Great atmosphere, GREAT food!, excellent Pizza! more

NOW THAT'S WHAT I CALL PASTA! 7/11/2002

Have I got a place for you---Pasquale's on woodward--I eat out several times a week-and italian is my favorite--if you want to wake up your taste buds and are tired of the same old ""out of the jar sauce"" then I suggest you try this place. Great atmosphere (looks to be newly remodeled), pleasant service (what a rare treat that is) and the food was simply MmMm good! Pros: reasonably priced, lg. well lit parking, delicious more
