Terrific place to bring out-of-state company who thought that Orlando was all about Disney 8/19/2007

We visited on Aug. 18th. The service, food and wine were wonderful. We started with French onion soup, which had a wonderful herbal broth, the goat cheese salad and crab-topped gazpacho. For entrees, we had the crab-stuffed grouper, shrimp and scallops over homemade pasta in a savory sauce, and the Steak Diane. I tasted everyone's meals and everything was perfect. My husband's steak could've been cut with a fork. Although I stuck to capuccino for dessert, the chocolate mousse cake and bananas foster that I sampled from my guests' plates were equally wonderful. I am definitely returning. Pros: everything was great, including the attentive service and friendly staff Cons: Winter Park restaurants are pricier but this one was worth it more

LOVE the atmosphere 8/10/2007

The best thing about Park Plaza Gardens is the lovely setting. It's very romantic and comfortable, you feel like you could be in a bistro in Manhattan or even somewhere in Europe. The prices are steep for the portion size, but it is usually worth it. I say ""usually"" because something was not quite right - we had escargot as an appetizer followed by the Shrimp & Scallop dish and the lamb dish. Both meals were very good, but maybe it was the olive oil that was brought twith the bread that threw me off (it's looooaded with garlic). I am a big garlic fan but something about it left me still tasting the garlic the next morning. A little unpleasant, so just a small warning about the intensity. Otherwise, it was a good experience though - great service, beautiful atmosphere. I do have to say though, I wasn't as impressed with the food as I felt like I should have, especially for the price. It was by no means bad...just not quite up there like I had expected. Pros: Ambience!!!, Service, Menu selection more

Best meal in Orlando 10/18/2005

Everything at Park Plaza Gardens is fantastic. The French onion soup is perhaps the best I have ever had. The appetizers and salad are all a fine way to start a meal. A sturdy wine list complements any meal. I have had both seafood and steak at Park Plaza Gardens and have never been disappointed. Don't leave before trying their special crème brule, they usually have a new one each week. Park Plaza Gardens is one of the more expensive meals in Orlando but the atmosphere, service and food are well worth the price. Pros: Fantastic Food, Perfect Service, Amazing Atmosphere Cons: crowded bar in front more

lovely dining room 5/1/2005

My girlfriend and I went here on our anniversary. We were at first a little taken aback by the prices, hoping that the quality of the food was worth it. Well, let me just say, it WAS, WAS. The food is carefully prepared with care, by a skillfull enthusiastic chef. The quality of the ingrediants, and food, were painfully aparent, to even the most naive palate. Each bite, was a different joy ride, depending on the combination of ingrediants you caught on your fork. I really like this place and the dining room had a Soho or Atlanta (Virginia Highlands) feel to it. Very Charming. The Apple Bread pudding is GREAT. Pros: Food , Ambiance, Quality more

Business or Pleasure 5/19/2002

If you are looking for a place to have a business dinner- or looking for a place to go with friends/family, or a romantic dinner Park Plaza Gardens is the place to go. Located next on Park Avenue, this open, airy restaurant gives you the feel that you are dining outside in a garden, when actually you are in a glass covered room, with trees, and small twinkling lights. The food is always good, and the service never dissapoints. If you want something not so formal, try the cafe (also where the bar is). here you can either dine inside or outside near the sidewalk. You will notice this is a popular local meeting place, also a good place to have lunch. Ask for Mark in the cafe- he is the best server-has been there for years, and knows how to make sure you have a perfect experience. Pros: atmosphere, service, food more
