I have been many places for gelato and this place is quite decent. It is better than most of the places in LA. It is definitely not a horrible place. I think the last reviewer came during a time when paradise was at its worse. I found the management to be very reasonable, and I am sure if you tell them it sucked and why (in a polite way), they would probably try to remedy the situation. Anyhow, I thought both their gelatos ANd sorbets were very fresh and creamy with a solid vareity of flavors that I liked. If you want some variety try Crema Dolci in south redondo in the riviera village. Anyhow, when I am in Manhattan, I go to paradise and cant complain and when I am at home, I go to crema dolci. TERRIBLE! DONT GO HERE!!!!! 6/5/2006

My sister was in town from the East Coast and we went here after dinner once evening. It was absolutely terrible - I dont know what these other reviews are talking about!! I have had my fair share of gelato and this by far was the worst! It was hard, had ice chunks in it, and tasted stale! It was awful! Not only did it taste bad, but it was pretty expensive - $10 for 2 mediums (4 scoops in total). I ended up throwing it away because it was actually making me physically ill! I would save my time and money on this place and go to the Manhattan Creamy down the street!! Pros: Had a good review Cons: Tasted BAD, Expensive, Overall Awful more

Finally, Gelato in LA! 9/6/2004

A friend of mine told me about Paradise awhile back. Having had horrible experiences at these so-called gelato places up here in LA, I was a little hesitant to try it out. Anyway, my drive I ended up making down to Manhattan Beach was made worthwhile by the gelato at Paradise! The substance is of a smooth, creamy feel, rather than the nasty rock solid stuff I've had up here. My favorite flavor has to be pumpkin, which is available in the fall. I'd also recommend the tiramisu and their heavenly gelato pies! Pros: Great Gelato more

Ice Cream...only Better!! 8/28/2002

As locals, we were so glad when Paradise Creamery came to town. Imagine, a little piece of Italy right here at the beach. Our friends are so envious that we can walk a few blocks and get authentic Italian gelato. Thank goodness most people are remaining loyal so that this Manhttan Beach treasure will not be forced out of business and we get stuck eating tasteless ordinary high fat ice cream. The service is great, the people are friendly, and they give you good size scoops. I really like how they give you the piece of waffle in your icecream. This is my favorite place to go to for dessert. Pros: great ice cream, good service, free samples more

Stupendous ice cream not in a much higher stratosphere than any other local creamery. We love it! My favorite flavors are hazelnut, coconut and strawberry (but I know there will be more as I keep coming back!). more

OUTSTANDING & ADDICTIVE 8/21/2002

THIS is absolutely the best ice cream and sorbet I have ever had! I'm so spoiled now, I wish they had locations everywhere I go. This homemade, whipped daily, Italian gelato is in so many different flavors and they let you try them all before you choose. I recommend the chocolate sorbet (that's right, chocolate!) for all you cholcolate lovers - this is unbelievable! The lemon and orange are great also. I can't even begin to list my favorite ice creams, because they introduce new flavors regularly. Just stop by and meet the friendly owners - Jeff and Susan. We stopped in here on a whim and decided to try their gellato. This was absolutely the best stuff I've had since I was in Italy, some time ago. I understand the owners make their product themselves from recipies they have modified and perfected and they do an outstanding job. YOU GOTTA TRY IT AND YOU'LL SEE WHAT I MEAN!!
