Editorial review from Citysearch 5/3/2013

We took our boat here for service and on consignment. We dropped the boat off on 4-6-13 and was told by Amy that she would call us on Tuesday and let us know about the repairs, etc... Tuesday came and went and no phone call. We finally got a hold of her on Thursday that week to see when the boat would be done. She never had any concrete answers. We then never received any more communication from anyone at this facility (after many messages left for Amy who never returned any phone calls). Finally, we reached someone on 4-30-13 that could tell us that the boat was finished according to his computer records. We took time off work on 5-3-13 to drive an hour one way to pick up the boat and they left the gas cap off and the tank was full of water and they ""misplaced"" the title to our boat! Misplaced means LOST! I have never had such bad customer service at any company in my life. I would never recommend this company to anyone. Run away as fast as you can, find someone else even if it cost a little bit more. You will regret going to this company on many levels. more

Terrible Service 8/13/2010

Took pontoon boat to have it serviced. It took them three weeks because they could not order parts or something, apparently they are on c.o.d. terms with their suppliers, at least according to one of their vendors I spoke with in the parking lot. Any way after waiting three weeks for my family boat I get it back with Oily boot prints going through the boat and as if that was'nt bad enough, found out when I got the boat to the lake that the service was not done properly and the water pump was disconnected causing the engine to overheat. Returned the boat to palmetto where they kept the boat for another week and then tried to charge me for connecting the water pump line that they disconnected in the first place. Stay away from PALMETTO BOAT CENTER. more

HORRIBLE SERVICE!\r We took our boat to Palmetto Boat Center because our trim stopped working. They took two weeks to have the trim motor magnets replaced. I understand that it is a two hour job to remove and replace the motor. I went in several times to check the status of the job and no one would acknowledge me let alone give me a straight answer about progress. When we finally got it back we took it out and the trim motor made a loud grinding sound so we returned the boat to them. After waiting two more weeks of summer boating season I drove to the place and went in. I could not get a straight answer again. After another visit and several phone calls Marty told me that they had forgotten about our boat and would have to order a new trim motor (another weekend lost and more money). Save yourself a lot of aggravation and use another ""service"" center. \r Pros: Good location Cons: terrible service more
