Pablo's is amazing hands down my favorite restaurant in Minnesota I've been coming here with my family since I was a kid and it has always been great food and service. If your hating on Pablo's then you need to get your life together haha but seriously this is as good as it gets! more

I Love this place 1/17/2012

Pablo's happens to be my favorite Mexican place to eat! I love the Chile Rellenos and the Carne Asada Tacos are fabulous! This place needs to market their salsa, I would eat it everyday if I could, it has so much flavor. The extra hot salsa is a bit spicy for me, but if you add a little to the mild it is out of this world! Now that they make their own chips, it is perfect! more

Thanks! 1/13/2012

I went to Pablo's the other night with my friends to celebrate a birthday. Missy was our server. She was awesome! I had the Carne Asada Tacos and they were wonderful. And I can't stop eating those dang chips either! more

I really like the new chips at Pablos ! 1/13/2012

I have been eating at Pablos for the last 5 years. I have always had great service and great food. The only thing that was missing was a great chip. They started making their own chips. I have alway's liked there fresh salsa, and these chips really go good with it. If you haven't been there since they changed their chips, you will want to go try them. more

Have the Shredded Pork Chimichanga with Enchilada sauce 1/6/2012

I just had lunch at Pablo's and had great service from Missy the waitress. I usually get the ground beef enchilada's and love them. Today Missy talked me into the shredded pork chimichanga with enchilada sauce. It is the bomb. Don't forget to try the Margarita's also. They are very reasonably priced. more

Minnesotas best Mexican Restaurant 1/6/2012

Pablos is a family owned business since 1986. Their food is made fresh to order and thrown in the oven(the plates are sooo hot you can't touch them), obviously not microwaved! Try the Mucho Grande and add one of their new sauces, Chlie verde is awesome! The handshaken blanco margarita is to die for, I could live off those! more

frozen tex-mex at best!!! 11/4/2011

Food: I wish they actually had grown adults working here. Their staff consisted of 16 year old kids, not sure if anyone working was over the age of 20? We went because of good ratings from people, and a coupon because we just moved to the area. From previously living in the cities where the mexican restaurants are actually mexican! Extremely disappointed the food had absolutely no extra flavor added, and tasted like mostly frozen product. The sampler plater is the best laugh! Don't waste the money on it, barely worth it with half off coupon. Service: Our waiter was actually pleasant. He was timely and upbeat, only forgot to bring extra salsa to the table, but was pretty on key other then that. It was kind of ironic when he finally asked if everything was tasting ok, and my boyfriend responded,""Average, at best."" The waiters response back was,""Thats to bad, im sorry."" In a chipper upbeat way, kinda weird like he has heard this before and its just like a broken record to him. Over all save your time and money and just drive down to El Toro which is not much father, still in Shakopee. more

Best Mexican food ever!!!! 2/25/2011

Not the Best Mex Place in the Metro 12/16/2009

I've been to many Mexican restaurants in the metro including El Loro in Savage, Burnsville and Crystal, La Casita in Roseville, Azteca in Burnsville, Baja Sol Cantina in Eden Prairie, Chula Vista in St. Paul and Don Pablo's in Bloomington. Pablo's in Shakopee was recommended by my friend's co-worker but I do not know why. It was by far the worst Mexican eating experience I have ever had. Obviously people who like this restaurant do not go out much at all! I could cook better Mexican food at home! I ordered the enchiladas and the meat was profusely salty and re-fried beans were cold and really salty and crusty. They both seriously tasted like frozen mex dinners you get in the store. We came at the normal dinner hour, not like it was right before close. The chips and salsa were blah--I have eaten much better ones at the other restaurants listed above. There were four of us eating and we all had to agree that our food sucked. I left over half of my meal on my plate and I never do that since Mexican is usually my favorite type of food. If you do want the best Mexican in the Metro go to El Loro in Savage. I have been there countless times and I am always satisfied! This is what traditional Mexican food should taste like!!!!! It shouldn't taste like a TV dinner!!! Pros: Not any I can think of Cons: Salty, salty food , tastes like it is out of a can! more

HUGE margaritas!! 11/1/2009

Wonderful wait staff, we had a very friendly waitress and the food was 100% perfect! I ordered the biggest Margarita ive ever seen (almost embarrasing) Pros: taquitos Cons: shakoppe is kinda ghetto more

Not the Great restaurant it USED to be! 7/30/2008

Been going to Pablo's over 13 years, last 4 years food quality / menu changeing, good items disappearing, overall experience becoming disappointing. Last night, 7/30/08 for wife's birthday, was last straw. poor service, I don't care attitude, obviously kitchen management poor, we won't be back. Was GREAT for 1st ten years however. Pros: parking due to lower amount of customers Cons: overall service/food prep/attention to detail more

Friendly service. Good drinks. 6/18/2008

The food was good, it just tasted good, but it almost tasted like somebody that was good making mexican food invited you to eat at their house more than restaurant food. Salsa was great. Service was nice also. Good drinks. Good value. Pros: Nice service and ambience. good drinks. Cons: food was slitghtly above average, tasted like homemade mexican. more

Best Mecican Restaurant in the Twin Cites Area 3/14/2008

I've been working at Pablo's since August of 2007. The food is to die for. That may be bias, but the reason i wanted to work there is because i loved there food. I highly recomend this place, and ordering a ""Mucho Grande"" Thats a buritto, enchilada, taco, and rice or beans. I'm a cook and I can tell you that we always use clean plates and stuff. We also get many comments about how clean the restaurant is. There are three things I don't like about Pablo's. The small work space the cooks have, The insanely busy Friday, and Saturday nights, and the size of the restaurant. We get more and more successful each year, and the restaurant cannot grow any more. To sum things up this is definately worth a shot. Generally the people that don't like Pablo's just aren't fans of mexican food. Pros: Food, atmosphere, Dessert, most prices Cons: Parking, Waiting on weekends, closed on sunday, some prices more

Ho-Hum, not worthy of the hype 10/21/2007

I'm new to the Twin Cities and I was looking for a mexican place that could become my favorite while I'm staying here. After looking over the reviews on CitySearch I decided to give Pablo's a try. My girlfriend and I ended up there on a Saturday night at around 8:45 pm. The parking lot was not well lit, and there was maybe 10 people in the place. Once inside it took the staff about 3 minutes to realize we were there. Once seated our waitress provided us water, 2 cups of salsa and some stale chips that tasted like they had just come out of the bag. We ordered one of their very large burritos and a combination platter, all chicken, with a taco, burrito, an enchildada, and rice. The waitress had to come back and ask if I wanted rice or beans. Pros: Good rootbeer, and if you like lettuce this is your place Cons: No green chili, stale chips, flat tea, lackluster service, and kitschy decor more

Best Mexican food - worth the drive 4/13/2007

This is by far the best Mexican food around. It's worth the drive to experience it, too. It's gets a little crowded on weekends but definitely worth the wait. Everything I've had there is good. And the staff is so nice. Give it a try, I think you'll enjoy it. Pros: great food, accomodates families and large groups, has a bar and smoking if that is something you need Cons: crowded on weekends more

Pablo's never fails to be great 6/2/2006

We eat at Pablo's VERY OFTEN because it never fails to be a good experience for everyone. It is very family-friendly and great for large groups. The food is wonderful - I highly recommend the chile rellenos and tortilla soup. The salsa is so fresh-tasting and you can buy containers of as take out (so the menu says - and someday I will do this). The staff is always very welcoming, accommodating, polite, and speedy. Also - get a ""cactus margarita"" - I am hooked on them! Pros: great food, great service, parking-a-plenty Cons: crowded weekends more

User review by kchellse 1/24/2006

I had heard a lot about how great the shredded beef burrito was and it did not disappoint. What was disappointing was half way though the meal one of the employees decided it was time to vacuum the dinning room! It was an hour before closing and there were 5 tables still eating. I could not hear my wife the rest of the meal! more

Best Mexican in the Twin Cities 1/17/2006

This restaurant has been around for 20 years, the best Mexican I have tasted since leaving California. They have excellent tamales and pork that they just started offering this past year otherwise the enchiladas and chile rellanos are to die for. If you are in for a margarita try their ultimate it is the greatest and for groups they offer towers of margaritas at a great price and their fun 120 ounces of margaritas delivered to your table. This place is a must to try Pros: friendly staff, great prices, good parking Cons: crowded more
