Editorial review from Citysearch 3/21/2013

Worst meal I've had in Nashville - ever. I'd rather eat at Burger King. The last time we went there it was for my wife's birthday. She ordered her steak ""medium-rare"" - a common request. The first time it was raw - not even seared on the outside all the way. The second time it was almost rare, and the THIRD time it was finally rare. By this time, my children and I had already completed our meals, since they took 15 minutes each time to return her undercooked steak.\r \r I tried the pork tenderloin with some sort or sweet/spicy glaze - the meat was cold, and the ""glaze"" was a sparse drizzle and tasteless. I make much better at home - from a bottle marinade.\r \r After all of the awful food, they did take my wife's dinner off of the check. I went to their corporate website to tell them how bad their cook was (I will not use the term ""chef"" for someone who can't cook a medium-rare steak at a steakhouse). Not surprisingly, I didn't receive a call or email in return. I guess they don't care. Maybe they were too busy making fake commercials about Australia, even though they are from Florida.\r \r Logan's and Longhorn are cheaper, and deliver a more consistent product, at nearly half the price. I don't expect to return to Outback any time soon. more

Excellent A to Z 10/1/2011

From the host's smiley faces to the ticket! Everything was awesome! The steaks were cooked as order, one medium well and one medium rare. Food was tasty and fresh. The waitress was so caring, smiley and attentive. The environment is one fun but relaxing at the same time. I went in there with my husband, who is a Chef in a 5 Stars Hotel. He ate every bite in his plate and enjoyed it very much! more

Great service 3/2/2010

Love the food. Complimenting our waiter tonight for great service. We sat in the bar and John was our server. He is one of the best servers we have ever had. will definitely go back and hopefully can request him as our server again. more

Not very good steak for a ""Steakhouse"". 5/5/2008

We give this Outback another try from time to time, it's not very far up on the regular list of places to eat when we're deciding though. The main reason is value, and sub par steaks for an establishment with Steakhouse in it's name. I know... I know... The quality of beef at most mid priced restaurants has decreased in the last couple of years due to the price of corn and fuel, but it's still possible to disguise this fact if one uses flavor and proper technique to max out the potential that a particular cut has. To cut to the chase the steaks that I get are cooked to much all the way through. I am not a very picky person, just so long as the thing is not bleeding pink but still cooked all the way through. This indicates too low of a temperature, which leads to too long of a time spent on the cooking surface. Most steaks I get from this place almost make me think they are using a cover on the steak being ""flat cooked"" as one would use for breakfast items. Oh, for most places I usually order my steak medium rare, or sometimes medium if the server gives me a heads up as to how they are coming out of the kitchen that day. I usually have to use too much salt in an attempt to get flavor from the steak. Enough on steak, one of the other things I've noticed is the portion sizes have decreased and sometimes we have to ask for the bread that they used to bring out with the drinks. The side salad is not the best and the baked potatoes while baked well and tasty are not the baked potato size one would expect next to a steak being it's only side, just once I'd like to get enough sour cream the first time. I have pretty much decided to get the Alice Springs Chicken from now on. \r The other thing is that I have had an experience with a lippy server there, but that's not the norm, and we have had good service most of the time with exceptional service sometimes as well. The place is very clean and the restrooms get attention. We used to eat there a lot but not so much anymore. Pros: Clean, good service, comfortable atmosphere. Cons: Poor value, Steaks not cooked properly for a ""Steakhouse"". more

Good Grub, Mate!! 7/23/2002

Dress up or dress down, it fits either mood, but go hungry. Bloomin' onion, should I say more? You never leave hungry and if you are like me, a doggy bag for later. The ribeye steak is excellant and so is the coconut shrimp. Pros: good parking, nice mid-range price more
