Great little diner- SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESSES!!! 5/23/2009

The Original Red Onion is the only Red Onion worth visiting. There may be a little wait to sit down, but that just tells you that a lot of people want to eat there. It's great to be able to support a business in Pinole that is owned by an independent, rather than a fast food chain. The burgers taste fresh, and are big enough to share. I also like that they fry all of there onion rings and french fries in a special oil that doesn't have trans fats. You can also get breakfast, and many nights they are open until 10pm....very conveinient! Pros: best onion rings, fast service, good variety of burgers Cons: small location more

THis place has been up since my husbands been in high school. The students from pvhs work there and they do a good job cooking. The mushroom burger with grilled onions is so delicious and the onion rings are off the hook! more

Bad service, Worse food 6/3/2008

I ordered a Burger and Onion Rings and they couldn't get it right! The burger had mayo all over it when I asked for it without and the rings never even made it to the table - I was done with my burger and they hadn't even started the rings yet. The waitress didn't care that I was unhappy and she didn't care that they botched the order. The food was no better than McDonalds on a bad day. These people don't deserve to be in business. Cons: Expensive, gross food, bad service, greasy tables, dirty utensils. more

Great Food and place 5/9/2007

The owner is very friendly and a great guy to talk to! I loved going there as a student at Pinole Valley High and still enjoy going back for the great food and service. This is everything you want in an ""All American Meal"" of burgers, fries and a milkshake. They also have a good breakfast menu! Great place all around and I hope it stays in business for years to come! Pros: Delicious burgers and pies more

Red Onion 9/28/2005

The Red Onion is conveniently located near the freeway. Inside is clean and decent to eat in. They have a very nice patio to eat at outside with umbrella covered tables. They sell good old American food with very good burgers and fries at a fairly decent price. They sell breakfast, lunch and dinner. They also sell homemade pies like chocolate cream, coconut cream and banana cream pie. Their pies are very good. more

Serve out standing breakfasts and great hamburgers for lunch or dinner. Excellent service owner is extremely friendly and outgoing, would recommend to anyone. Pros: friendly service, outstanding breakfast more
