Olive Garden in Monroeville Takes a Nose Dive 2/27/2012

Look guys, I would truly avoid this place. Overall, the food quality was poor. Years ago, I went to the Olive Garden at least once a month now I frequent it from time to time. Pros: null Cons: null more

Good Italian Restaurant 11/28/2005

It's best to go here when there is a $4 coupon in the coupon section of the paper or go when they have the all you can eat pasta special. You get unlimited salad and breadstix with every meal, and you can basically make that a meal in itself and take the mail course home! more

yummy salad 11/4/2005

Always a good meal here. The never ending salad is a favorite with our family. Look at the specials for a nice variety but don't forget to enjoy the old favorites. Be careful for long lines on weekends. more

Great Place 10/4/2005

Nothing beats the olive garden when it comes to delicious italian food. The price is always right, there is unlimited soup and breadsticks, and there is always a wide variaty of delicious cusine to try out more

The Best Meals With Fast Service 9/27/2005

We have at at this Olive Garden many of times over the years and they have great food, very clean, with great service. We have very happy each visit. They are also great with birthdays and special ocassions, and add a very special touch with a cake and a full singing celebrations upon request. Lots of fun, and caring people. PROS: Very clean, great service, and one of the best places to eat in the area. CONS: We have never had any problems. more

Great Meals at Reasonable Prices 6/7/2005

Olive Garden is a great place to go for a special dinner or a casual lunch. There's usually about a 20-30 minute wait on weekend evenings, but for the great food, in a somewhat upscale setting - at a reasonable price, it's worth the wait! This location also has a bar, and Barnes and Noble's is close by if you need something to occupy yourself while you wait! more

Best in the city??? 2/26/2003

How can Olive Garden be voted best italian in the city of Pittsburgh??? What is wrong with you people? The fast food manner in which their food prepared and presented is a slap in the face to any Italian grandmother... and the Olive Garden's "Italiano" marketing should be the ultimate insult to every true Italian out there... Pros: simple, fast, cheap Cons: very average, psuedo-Italian more

pretty good food 1/29/2003

the salad and breadsticks are great and the other food is good but not the best more

not hardly 1/29/2003

if olive garden is No. 1, that doesnt say too much for Italian food, the sevice is poor and so is the food. more

Jarred Sauce 1/13/2003

I feel that this spaghetti sauce tastes like it came out of a jar that you buy in the grocery store. I love their salads and breadsticks, but not their pasta. Cons: sauce more

Try Again! 12/5/2002

If you want fast food italian this is your place. Otherwise, choose again. Try Alexander's in Bloomfield and see if the Olive Garden even comes close. Pros: Nice Atmosphere Cons: Not authentic Italian, Overrated more

upscale fast food 11/27/2002

Who would even rank chain food as the "best" of anything !!! Prepared a week ago by a machine, portion controled and reheated in a microwave certainly dosen't sound like it even deserves consideration. Pros: fast food, portion control, reheated more

A Chain #1? 11/20/2002

In a city with strong ethnic heritage, I find it pathetic that the top Italian restaurant in Pittsburgh is Olive Garden. For anyone who has eaten Nona's homemade sauce, the Olive Garden is FAR worse than second-rate. While I don't object to Olive Garden for what it is, I find it hard to believe that it provides the best Italian food in the 'Burgh! more

is this Italian? 11/14/2002

My husband and I don't like the tomato/marinara sauce. It doesn't taste like homemade; more like it's from a can. We both like the tossed salad, and breadsticks Pros: good salad, pleasant staff, nice atmosphere Cons: bad sauce, restrooms too far, from tables in back more

MMMMMM 10/31/2002

Never in my life would I have imagined that I would love a restaurant because of a salad, but Olive Garden salads are just the most incredible works of mastery that I have ever indulged in before. It is just amazing and perfect, and the breadsticks are magnificient... oh there is other food too if you want it, but my vote is on the salad and the breadsticks! hehe more

Olive Garden#1 in Pittsburgh...Laughable 10/11/2002

I think it is an absolute disgrace that the Olive Garden has been rated the number one Italian restaurant in Pittsburgh. After seeing that I dismissed the entire list. Primadonna offers a superb dining experience and it is an insult to it's excellence to see it mentioned with the Olive Garden. The fact that PaPa J's in Carnegie isen't on this list is baffling. The atmosphere is wonderful, the service is top notch, and the food is some of the best in the city. I can't say enough good about Primadonna either. The service is fantastic and the food is unbelievable. To see the Olive Garden rated number one leads me to believe too many people are unaware of the dining experience offered at PaPa J's and Primadonna. more

gimme a break 9/10/2002

Gimme a break, sad to hear that around this city of ethnic restaurants and the like, you people think that the best Italian food is at A CHAIN!!!!!! Get out and get more adventerous!!! You will not believe what you are missing Cons: predictable, boring, chain more

OK 8/28/2002

service was ok, food was good, it was loud clanking dishes, wait staff talking loud back and forth more

Delicious Garden 8/22/2002

The Olive Garden offers a casual as well as upscale dining experience. From the salads and breads to the main course, you won't be disappointed. They maintain courteous and friendly service in a clean comfortable atmosphere. The tastiest Italian food in town. Pros: Reasonably priced, Excellent service, Nice atmosphere more

Good food and nice family style restaura 8/13/2002

A nice place with a food selection that appeals to the whole family. And it has generous servings and a family atmosphere. more
