Ogawa's Teryaki Hut is what Ontario was missing. some class, some culture, and an endorphin rush dining experience, with the relaxed atmosphere of a hometown restaurant. We've been craving sushi ever since moving to the area, and HAD to try the only sushi place in the area (especially after the glowing review left by ron_ont). WOW were we SEVERELY SADDENED by our experience. Let's just start with the server... She was older (so we thought she would understand customer service); HOWEVER, she was sooooo rude it was painful to be polite. In a place that has MAYBE ten tables, THREE were occupied (counting ours) and we were ignored/barely spoken to. After waiting at least 30 minutes, we saw the other table (that came in after ours) being served. 10 minutes later it was discovered that our food was given to this other table. Once the inept individual figured out our food was given to someone else - she gave the OTHER table the right food and walked back towards the kitchen, without even speaking to us!! After another 10 minutes, she came back to let us know in a curt sentence (not even directed at us as she was looking at another table) that she had, ""given our food to another table - whoops - so you'll have to wait longer."" Once we were finally served our food, a total of at least 45 minutes after we arrived (and ordered 2, count them, 2 simple sushi rolls), we were sadly, sadly, sadly let down. The roll itself, was warm and gooey, the seaweed was chewy, and the sliver of fish that was in it was overwhelmed by the sick amount of mayonnaise based sauce that was slathered all over the sushi. Allow me to break it down for you further... Ogawa Sushi = Rice, rice, rice, horseradish mayonnaise, rice, rice, & rice, and a teeny tiny bit of fish. We choked down the 2 rolls and ordered a hamburger to go. After we were done, our ""server"" tossed the bill on the table and walked away without saying a word! At this point we were honestly wondering if there was some sort of strange conspiracy going on, like we were the new kids in town and persona non gratis. I've never, EVER written a review for any restaurant, good, bad or otherwise, but I cannot allow the five start rating to be the only rating out there when the above was our true experience this evening. more

The best Sushi and the best oriental food you will find in Ontario, Oregon !!!!! Great people and they have started to open later at night which makes it much better for all........Awesome noodle dishes as well as rice dishes....and they also have brown rice. The only place in Ontario, Oregon that serves oriental cuisine that they up front say they do not add MSG to any of their food!!!!! Not a fancy place but it really does make up for it with their food!!!! A place that should not be missed.................I have retired to Ontario, Oregon and have recommended Ogawa's to many and I look forward to them expanding and of course continuing the quality and service for as long as they wish!!! Pros: Incredible Food, Great Service...good parking on street on in back Cons: Small place.Counter service then you take food to your table which could be pro/con more
