The Place Where Troubles End and Paradise Begins 3/26/2010

My wife and I first came to the Ocean Key resort in the fall of 2004. It was so impessive right down to the Palm Deccorated Bear left on the bed for my wife by the staff, to the wonderfully decorated room. It has become our annual weekend getaway ever since. This place is one that could aspire the minds of novelist and people just looking to unwind from daily life. We enjoyed the breakfast on the balcony with the famous roosters of Key West and watched the water turn from a dark body to a blue green jewel sparkling in the sunlight. We abolutely adore this place of solitude! Peace be with you and God Bless. Pros: Excellant Location, Beautiful Room, Great Staff Cons: Has been a few years since remod, but still awesome. more

Poor service/unprofessional staff members 7/26/2005

Although beautiful with delicious food, good service left to be desired. I had a wedding there, spend thousands of dollars, and it was disgustingly disorganized. The ceremony started late b/c they couldn't direct people and every aspect was handled unprofessionally. The service was so bad that my brother ended up setting up the room where the reception was going to be held an hour before it was start. Also they can not follow a request of leaving a piece of fruit off a plate. No matter how many times they were told or how many times it was written in there system the fruit still appeared on my plate. To a person who is deathly allergic to it, this is very bad. The response I received from the manager after all issues were stated was nothing more than a mere Im sorry and good luck! Pros: Food, Location, Accomdations Cons: Service, Disorganized more

Loved it! 1/12/2005

Stayed here Nov 15-20, 2004. Can't recommend this place enough! Room was awesome - never wanted to leave. Bands on pier change every hour or two so if you don't like one, it will change soon. Never heard any sound from the renovations taking place in my building. Entire staff (hotel, bar, restaurant, pool) was helpful but unobtrusive. If you are considering the Pier House over this one, my only note is this...this protrudes out past the PH, so your view from PH may not be as good. I debated between the two but made the right choice! Pros: location, great room, quiet more

Paradise Found in Key West 1/11/2004

Ocean Key resort is one of the best locations in Key West, located at the tip of the famous Duval Street, within stolling distance of all the bars and restaurants. The rooms are gorgeous, with brightly colored walls, toucan carved armoires and cool tile flooring. Definitely splurge on an ocean view, the sunsets are incredible. The Billy Fish Bar & Grill has great atmosphere and typical bar food. Hot Tin Roof, the new restaurant, had exquisite food and service! The pool is nice, overlooking the ocean. We will be back!
