Nortec Dental

Just moved into the Portland area and was recommended by a coworker. Really liked how fast they were able to get me in. I was eating bread that had nuts in it, and broke my front tooth completely to the gum! Turns out I had a root canal there a long time ago, which made it weak. The doctor ended up removing it and putting an implant in it's place. At first, I was nervous putting a screw in my mouth, but it wasn't all that bad. I can now smile confidently again! I recently got my three teeth pulled because of pain and well they were pretty rotted. Although I have neglected my mouth for a while, no one at Nortec Dental made me feel bad and scolded me. Now, I have a new upper plate so I can chew and eat again! No one including myself don't like going to the dentist but it wasn't all that bad. Dr Tsen took out the teeth really fast. I was done before 5 minutes was up! Very gental with the novacane. My brother is coming to see him too. Speaking from a dental phobe like me, I have the highest opinion of Dr. Tsen. Due to the fact that I am terrified, I mean petrified of needles I always have to warn the dentist as well as dental technicians of my fears well ahead of time. Dr. Tsen more than understood my fears and NEEDS and numbed my mouth with surprisingly very little pain. The laughing gas helped smooth things over too. Needless to say, I was able to get my root canal done which was long over due. Thanks Dr. Tsen for a job well done! Pros: dentist Cons: not open on weekends more

We are very happy to find Dr. Tsen again through the internet search. After he left Gentle Dental several years ago, we have not felt comfortable seeing other dentists. What a vast improvement with his new office on Cornell Rd with all the high tech equipment ! But it is his skill as a dentist, ie. his pain-less injections, and feather-like touch, as well as his sincerity that have kept our family loyal to him for so many years. My daughter loves going for her checkups and cleanings while watching Finding Nemo ! His staff are incredibly friendly, and are as caring and gentle as the doctor himself. I highly recommend this office, especially to dental phobes like me ! P.S. - We now live in Vancouver, and will continue to see him! The staff was very uptight. Dr. not very friendly. Hurt me with the shot. Employees were whispering alot. Maybe the office was just having a bad day, but it was MY day. more

I've always been afraid of going to dental offices through out my life but Dr. Tsen and his caring staff were more than sensitive to my fears and needs. I told him that because of my bad experiences as a child, I was afraid to get regular dental work done. He was very attentive and listened to my concerns. I could tell he truly cared about me as a patient. I got through my dental treatments which entailed of a root canal, crown, and two fillings without any problems. Of course, receiving nitrous oxide during my dental visits definitely helped!!! I also enjoyed watching the latest DVD and smelling the aromatherapy too!! I barely noticed the funky dental office smell. I HIGHLY recommend Nortec Dental. more

Best. Dentist. Ever. Dr. Tsen sets a new level of patient care and is wonderful at interacting with his patients. Whether the Aveda scents or the flat screen tv playing DVDs during treatment, you'll wonder whether you're at a spa or at the dentist. Wireless internet in the waiting room is great if you have to wait, but I hardly ever have had to do so. Dr. Tsen and his co-workers treat their patients with the utmost in courtesy, compassion, and cutting-edge methods. Completely and utterly recommended.
