Ok, I worked for Niko's on dishman mica rd about 15 years ago and let me tell you....the food is fantastic. I know Laith is as great a cook as his father Fuoad, I just hope he doesnt smoke a cigarette while he cooks letting the ashes fall into the cooking meat or take money out of the till to go gambling and drinking in the middle of the day. Its pretty sad that most of his employees were always accused of stealing when it was the owner himself. The food is awesome but they are scam artists.... more

Don't waste your Time at Nikos dated May 9 2009 5/9/2009

Hi ,Debby Kallas here to save you from an expensive, irritating, rude, so called dinner you have ever had. It was my 50 birthday party. All 18 cousins came with expectations for a great time.We were forced to buy bottles of wine, instead of glasses. The wine expert( Part owner) was rude and errogant ..The food took one and one half hours to get to us.The special was a steak 45 dollars .The price not disclosed till you got the bill. The steak was tough, dry. The prawns were baby shrimp. I have tried to send 4 letters to Laith the owner on my disappointment with the evening, with no response, one Certified Letter. I would think in this economy you would make it right with your customers.More reviews to come. Please note the dates of the reviews. We are greeks that is why we chose Nikos. Nikos has lost us as customers.PICK... PF CHANGS............. WE WISH WE WOULD HAVE. .......DEBBY KALLAS to be conmtinued........... Pros: good news pf Changs is close by Cons: Please note they used old dates for reviews,no good more

Disappointing and expensive 5/7/2008

My experience at Niko's was disappointing. The pita was rubbery. The Greek Salad had tons of iceberg and only three small grape tomatoes in a dinner size salad. The dressing seemed to be just a bottled Italian and the feta wasn't great. The server was totally syrupy sweet and not genuine at all; she pretty much never came back after we decided not to order wine. The food is just not good enough to merit the very high prices, and not all that authentic (I've been to Greece several times). Santorini's (across the courtyard from RiteAid downtown) has wonderful, authentic food at much better prices - go there instead. Pros: Ambiance, good tzatziki Cons: Service, price, pita, salad more

Best Wine Selection In The Area. Great Service. Paulene Knows The Definition of Service and Wine!!! 4/26/2008

I wanted a wonderful night out with my girlfriend and to start our experience with Niko's, the valet parking was a very convenient alternative to searching for downtown parking. Immediately walking into Niko's, the dimmed lighting gave a gentle rich feeling as the ""easy listening"" tunes reminded me of the Sinatra and his Pack. The Wine Tender, Paulene greeted us as we decided to sit in the wine-bar portion of the restaurant. Her astute intelligence of wine was remarkable. Understandably so, sense she has been a part of Niko's for almost half of its 23 years of operation. It is easy to see why the Pacific Northwest's ""Inlander"" honored Niko's with the best wine list for last year. Our server continued to serve us well while making us laugh in the process. Its hard to see who wouldn't like the service. The food we enjoyed was amazing; definitely nothing like anywhere else in town. I highly recommend everyone to enjoy a great glass of wine, with great food, and amazing service. Pros: Awesome atmosphere. Amazing wine selection. Great Food. Great Service. Cons: None. more

Terrible experience......Paulene the ""wine expert"" was no expert on anything especially good service! 4/12/2008

I am new to Spokane, and I invited famliy to visit me here in my new home. I wanted to treat them to a nice evening out that turned out to be a night of frustrations. We went to Nikos, only to be greeted by a very cynical, rude, arrogant woman by the name of Paulene. We should have left right there and then. She brought us a bottle of wine that we DID NOT order. She treated my father terribly, not allowing him to pick our wine or be the first to taste it. And to top it off, the food was not worth talking about. I would steer clear of this restaurant if you would like to feel good while dining out......especially when you are being charged an arm and a leg for your meal! Pros: The atmosphere was not bad....thumbs down! Cons: Terrible service, terrible wine stewart, terrible evening that was very expensive! Thumbs down! more

nice place 1/23/2005

The ambience of the restaurant is very pleasing. It's crisp and classy and a nice place to go on a date or semi-formal meeting; not for jeans and tshirt. The menu is seems a bit over priced for the food which is somewhat average. What is really the attraction is the wine bar. more
