Our biggest county library features story telling and other services to the public, lots of activities for children, and a huge book sale once a year. There is a large sunny lounge to sit and read the many newspapers and magazines on offer. The reference section is thorough. There are about a dozen computers for public use - warning - after school and during the summer these are - understandably and justifiably- hogged by kids and bored teens. Best bet is during the weekdays during the school year if you are working on a project. When my computer breaks down I go there. You can get stuff printed out (b/w only) for a fee, get photocopies and send faxes. The director is a knoweldgeable local woman who believes in being an active player in the community. Visitors are welcome. Art exhibits are an on-going feature. It's across the street from the Andy Griffith Playhouse, right downtown.
