My boyfriend and I live in Phoenix, but spent the weekend in Sedona where his mother has lived for 40+ years. We packed up our cruisers hoping to fit in a quick, low-key ride while we were there.\r

We weren't sure where to ride, so we stopped in at Mountain Bike Heaven for some trail suggestions. We asked for something flat and were told (and I quote), "" You could try Florida, Kansas..."" Thinking the guy was just trying to get a laugh, we clarified our question, ""We're okay with inclines, but have cruisers and can't do anything rocky."" His very-sarcastic response was, ""You could try Phoenix."" He didn't crack a smile - just looked smug. We tried again, ""We just need something our bikes can handle,"" and got nothing in return. We left the shop with no more information than we went in with - just a feeling of being mocked and treated like annoying tourists.\r

What a snob. I'm sure they get a majority of their business from locals, but in a town where the economy is based on tourism, these guys really need to knock the elitist chips off their shoulders. Try the Bike & Bean in the Village of Oak Creek instead. They were really welcoming and friendly.
