I am a current student at Monkwise and recommend it to people of every age and ability level. The instructors are knowledgeable about a variety of styles and a vast range of techniques. They not only teach each student standardized forms, they can adapt techniques to the student’s body type or physical condition and teach them additional material based on their goals and interests. I have learned traditional kung fu, tai chi, and weapons forms, as well as self-defense techniques, sparring and grappling. It is also the best conditioning I have ever done. We do speed drills, strength training, and endurance work in a format that is always different so you are never bored and your muscles are constantly challenged. And the environment is probably the most positive I have ever experienced. The instructors are welcoming and use their expertise to help students learn, and the other students are friendly and encouraging.
